Great news again today!! Dee Dee goes to Cardinal Hill( rehab) Monday to spend a week, Then she gets to come home for a while until the broken bone gets well enough to put an internal plate in. Of course she'll be back in the hospital for awhile after that and will have more rehab. but at least she'll get out for a while . Thanks for the prayers Paige we really need them.

Keep the good news coming. I'm sorry for her to be going through this, but it is good to know she has a caring husband who also takes the time to keep us posted on her situation.

We will be looking for more good news soon! :)

Thanks guys for the support. Got up to the hospital today feeling really good about the news I got yesterday, and Dee Dee dropped a bombshell on me. Seems that the doctor that told her the good news had not talked to the bone doctor, the bone is not healing at all and sometime this week they're going to take the rest of her leg off at the breakthats about 6 to 8 inches above the need. Dee Dee is very positive about this She told the doctor that if that is what it takes do it so that she can get home. She also told the doctor to tell the other doctors that they need to pull their heads out of their rearends and start communicating. I think that just knowing that there are good people out there praying for her has helped her so very much!! I told her she would have to come to the races this year to meet some of the great people that are in WERA. Thanks again

There was a VERY inspirational feature with David Bailey on Bike Week last Tuesday. His lack of bitterness is amazing.

Be positive and make the most of what you have. Don't look back, look forward.

We have continued to follow your posts concerning your wife, we are all praying for her strength and yours as well. God Bless you and yours. HIS strength and love will see you through this. Your wife is a very strong person. The docs sound like the ones that worked on my dads back years ago, told us he would be fine now he can hardly walk and is in constant pain. Makes one wonder how they attain the status of "specialist"...... Please keep us updated on her progress. God Bless

I'll be sure to pass it on to Dee Dee, I must say that she is definitly stronger than I think I would be. The doctors came in to see her this evening and she told them that she was going to go thru one more operation and that they had better get everything done this time that they needed to do. the doctors told her that they weren't sure if they could get it all in one more operation and Dee Dee laid down the law to them. Being the main person recieving the "Look" for the pass 18 years when ever I tried to argue with her I'm sure the doctors will get everything done. Gob Bless and thankyou.

This is one Thanksgiving that neither of you will forget.
All of us in the racing community have been praying for you and your wife. This year if we didn't have something to be thankful for, we do now. Good luck.:)

The kids(age 19,16,and 8) and myself are going to my moms and then to see Dee Dee, Thomas ,my 8 year old and my self are going to spend the night with her. He's been wanting to stay overnight with her for some time and it will do both of them a world of good. Thanks for the concern all of you have shown and to each of you have a very good Thanksgiving, don't eat to much(new leathers can be expensive) and if your traveling be safe. I guess I had better go i've got a set of DS7 heads in the kitchen sink soaking and I need to go get the dirt and grease off of them, Please don't tell Dee Dee that I'm cleaning bike parts in the sink again or I'll get more than the look!! P.S. Thanks for letting me unload some of my thoughts on you guys, its really help alot its rough when you've got no one a home to share your thoughts with. again thanks

I am glad you are keeping us all posted on your wifes healing. I know from situations in the past that it is a benefit to talk with others rather than trying to do it all by yourself, took me awhile to realize it though.. I bet your 8 year old is very anxious to get up to stay over with mom, thats great. God Bless and as always your family is in our familys prayers, every day. Take care.

The dishwasher!! I never even thought about using it!! Even if Dee Dee was to hear it running she wouldn't suspect a thing!! Is that a cup of the Tang as in Tang that you drink??

Tom had a great time staying overr with his mom. Dee Dee is in ICU and ussally they are pretty strict, but the nurses have been great to all of us. She told them we were coming up for a slumber party and they really went out of their way, to make it a good time for Tom. They let Tom take her blood pressure and Temp. With supervision of course. Hope you all had a great thanksgiving!! God Bless!!

To help keep your marriage intact, the parts should esentially be clean already. Wash them with the regular amount of dishwasher soap (long cycle). At least a cup of Tang <yes, the powdered drink mix> in an empty dishwasher will get the inards of it amazingly clean! I've also found that the hot dry cycle can get the piece hot enough to install those interferance parts ie: bearings and solid engine mounts...(if you put them in the freezer first)

Hey everybody, its been real hectic this week but there is good news :D Mon. They took Dee Dee's leg off at the bone break( approx 8 inches above the Knee) the bone had not healed and they found infection at the break. They had to leave the leg open for the infection to drain. I've never seen anyone in so much pain in my life!! they had her on so much pain drugs they were scared that she might guit breathing. Weds. they finished up her leg and closed it up. today she was up sitting in a chair and they plan on sending her to rehab next week. She should be home for Christmas. :D She's really scared about coming home and I can understand that. Shes been in ICU since Oct. 17 except for about 4 days and I think the idea of getting back in the real world bothers her. She's got a long hard road ahead but with everyone's prayers she'll do fine.

my thoughts and prayers have been with your family constantly . i'm glad to hear that she is coming home , and can undersand her anxiety . she has a tough hill to climb , and it all comes down to her but with support from family and friends , it should lighten her load a bit . i also believe that in the months ahead she is going to see who her friends really are and unfortunatly that could hurt as well . thank god she has a devoted husband and the love of her kids to give her something solid . have her set small little goals for herself let her acomplish them on her own . when she gets down , remind her that she survived this ordeal for a reason and ask her why she thinks that is . if she gets bitter , try to have her turn that negative energy into a good thing . but most of all YOU must be strong and when the going gets rough take it with a grain of salt , let it go through one ear and out the other and press on . how are the kids set for christmas? if there is anything i or my fiancee can do for your family please pm me , we want to help and would rather you swallow some pride and ask than have to sacrifice something your family needs ! mike & betsy
