That country has some of the most fvcked up overly stringent gun laws, to the point that its lunacy split over to the POLICE side of the equation. Just like our whacky gun laws did for a little while when our police couldn't carry guns with more than 15rds, iirc, before they fixed it.

POLICE should NOT be disarmed.

People bitch about the "militarization" of police. Kinda hard not to do when the bad guys are coming at you with automatic weapons.

 

Even in tactical gun classes, they teach you to move laterally if there's no immediate cover.
