    Dear Republicans:

    Megadittos to you.

As we all know, Republicans are not racist, at all. This is well documented fact, and should not be questioned.

I was explaining this to my neighbor today, but he's not buying it!

He claims that all of the states east of the Mississippi that McCain is leading in are known for racial intolerance.

    West Virginia
    Kentucky
    Tennessee
    Georgia
    Mississippi
    Alabama
    South Carolina

He says this shows that McCain is doing best where racism is worst.

That can't be true can it?

Or perhaps there just happens to be a lot of people in those states that believe they are responsible and accountable for the level of success they achieve in life and don't feel that the it's the job of government to provide for them.

Or it could be the thing that killed Gore... people in those states won't vote for someone that wants to take their guns(ie, Democrats). Hell, the damn union guys even balked on voting for Gore.

Newsflash....there are just as many Democrat racists in the states you listed and racism is alive and well in the blue states. I offer MI as a prime example. Democrat support is largely union driven, not due to any implied lack of racism.

Your statements are as stupid as claiming that all Democrats are socialists or communists.

C'mon, everybody knows racism only exists in the southern US and nowhere else in the world.

The reason I am not voting for Obama is not because he is black but because I don't believe in the issues he is for. I don't agree with McCain on all the issues but he is the closest candidate to the values and issues I believe in. Our political system sucks. :(

Nope, sorry. Racism is more prevalent among political conservatives than political progressives, and the red states have a higher percentage of conservatives and a lower percentage of progressives than do blue states.

Also, many of the older southerners were virulent anti segregationists and converted Dixiecrats. Many of their older children were and are still influenced by this.

Which states have the most Muslim Black Christian Radicals and which candidate is leading in them? You think that's coincidence?? :D

And don't patriotic flag lapel pin-wearing Americans have a RIGHT not to be offended? I heard McCain showers with his on.

Cite please. And the fact that someone might disagree with a policy does not make them racist.

The latest New York Times/CBS News telephone poll was conducted nationwide July 7-14 with 1,796 adults, and has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus three percentage points.

    Blacks: 59%
    Whites: 34%

“There has been no progress since the 1960s in eliminating racial discrimination.”
    Blacks: 39%
    Whites: 17%

“Do white people have a better chance than blacks of getting ahead in today's society?”
    Whites: 35%
    Blacks: 64%

“Have you ever felt you were stopped by the police just because of your race or ethnic ground?”
    Whites: 7%
    Blacks: 43%

“Was there ever a specific instance when you felt discriminated against because of your race?”
    Whites: 26%
    Blacks: 68%

“How many of the people who live in the immediate area around your home are black?”
    None, or a few,
    Whites: 83%
    Blacks: 32%

    And this proves what? Perception?

And those numbers are based on peoples feelings and reactions, not hard facts. I mean, damn, look at the questions.

A Grand Canyon of perception. I posted it because it's not by state.

Quantum Physics dictates our perception creates the very fabric of matter and the world we live in.

Is racism a particle or a wave? Or is it both.

    Or neither.

QP says "yes" to all of these. Depending on your measurement (perception).
