JM is in a lot of pain at the moment but I'm kinda surprised that he didn't choose discretion as the better part of valor. New bike New team New season (crashfest so far) MM on a Ducati Dude chill...it will come together but not all at once smh
This. We are talking MotoGP here, not some production based club racing class. How about they discard about 1/2 of the bullshit rules currently in place and let racers race. We do not need a bunch of F1 style rules.
DORNA has already seen to it - they give him a 2-4 second gap every race to make sure that if something happens, like in Austin, that he's a 1 man bowling ball and the other 21 grid fillers are safe.
Thread is largely quiet about FB's slingshot effort in the GP race. Had peckerhead not layer'down in Q2, he would have been right there with marky marc. MM didn't do anything alien in this GP race.
I thought Morbo was going to stay out front and take the GP! And Mav? Nice riding Mark said, nope, I'll wait. Baggy rode well I thought.
Alien like as in starting from pole, again, controlling the race with plenty in hand, watching folks go past him, sitting there comfortably, then when he's ready, crushes any and all competition to win? Nope not an alien at all. Think about it for a moment, other than 1 small mistake at COTA, he has won every race including sprints and achieved every pole. I dont care who you cheer for, that is next level and should be respected. I like FB but he is no MM and will not win the championship this year if MM stays healthy. When Mav went past, I was ok with it if he won. Would have been cool to see him win with a 4th brand, but we all knew MM had it covered.
Last year when he got the ride and Gigi said 'the data is why' ... I wonder what that actually is. Does he brake harder? Get on the gas sooner? Turn in later? Use less electronics? Rides on the edge of the tire less? Consumes less fuel somehow? Like, there has to be something that really stood out compared to FB and JM. They're just all so good, what could it have been? Killer instinct not withstanding ....
There's one thing that's known: they all talk about looking at the data for left turns and wondering how he does whatever it is that he does. Either way, it seems that all the folks who refused to believe that the man who creates the bikes could see something from the data that they couldn't see from behind their tv screens have all done quiet. Martin earned that factory ride but Gigi knew what was best for business. It is a business.
I think if/when he gets his 10th title he'll settle down quite a bit and possibly display a modicum of sanity.
