"increase in the pneumothorax, this will make it necessary to place a drainage in aspiration. The rider will have to remain under observation for a few days in the hospital until the pneumothorax resolves.” Aka a collapsed lung...
I had 7 broke last Feb, (with punctured lung) and I have no doubt these guys will absolutely put to shame my recovery, but... Fuck this is a shitty injury. Us normal folks, it would end our season. Glad that's the worst of it, though, it was ugly.
I can’t imagine the pain. He’ll sleep in some kind of chamber whether hyperbaric or whatever, stuff we can’t afford to lay around in all day to heal faster.
It was if you were chasing money in club. The money dried up real quickly. Nicky was great, the Ben was great, bike sales plummeted.
JM ohhh dude that is just insult to injury. So, I was under the impression that MotoGP finest are wearing top of the line air vest to protect their upper body Did it malfunction?
Seems bermshot tendencies are genetic. Alex hit everything that moved, including his brother. Marc absolutely is just out there riding around until it's time to pull the pin. He's straight up toying with the field and managing his tires, and then bye bye. Great ride by Mav. He even was good at the start. Too bad he got robbed by that ridiculous tire pressure rule. The rest of the KTMs look mundane. Where's all the Acosta nut swingers anyway? What happens if you drop Zarco on a Duc? Is he a perennial 4-5 place rider no matter what bike he's on, or would he challenge Marc on a proper bike, which the Honda is not based on everyone else unable to crack the top 10? Again, the only one able to beat Marc is Marc, and today wasn't that Marc's day.
The tire pressure rule is no different than any other safety rule that must be followed. They have real time monitoring and warning messages so there’s no excuse not to follow this rule. They got caught cheating and paid the penalty that they knew would be applied. All you butt hurt people should stop complaining about someone that got caught cheating.
To be fair, Marc said post race that he was at fault for running deep in the corner and then coming back into the race line. Pedro is still an immense talent but I don't think he has the experience to overcome the KTM's faults. Look at the rest of the KTM riders. It's not like Beast or Binder are slow. Those guys have absolutely proven themselves in the past and they're struggling with that bike as well. The lack of offseason testing and development fucked them all. Mav is just an anomaly. He's a Lorenzo-esque headcase squared. Look at where he finished the first 3 rounds. When he's on, he's incredible. But when he's off... Zarco on a Duc is a regular podium contender. I've always thought he was a better rider than his results indicated, other than his early Tech3 years. The KTM disaster I think kind of derailed things for awhile. But Zarco is solid. That said, he still wouldn't be challenging Marc. I don't think anyone can right now. He's toying with them. I don't think anyone other than Marc even knows how fast he can go. He's beating them on cruise control.
Herve even said that Mav didn’t go wide by accident and he was letting Marc through to regain some heat and pressure. Then Marc left him and he couldn’t get that heat and pressure. Marc had to drop back earlier this year. Mav should have sooner. I fully agree with you. The fact they have to do it is ridiculous but as you said it’s part of the rules. It’s such a big part they have warning lights.
Nope, not even close. It's a matter of predicting where your rider will end up during the race and setting pressures accordingly. No one expected Mav to be out front with no one to follow that long. If they had predicted that and then he ended up in someone's tow for a long time, he would have subsequently ended up with a prematurely scorched tire. Has nothing to do with cheating and everything to do with judgment/misjudgment by the team. The only thing I'll grant is that Mav got tunnel vision and didn't see the message, thus he didn't drop back behind someone to bring the pressure up when he got danger close (like Marc did earlier in the year). But the fact that these tire pressure games are even a part of the show is stupid to most of us. We just want to see the riders race, not play stupid games like F1.
There should be a minimum pressure set and verified at the start and that's the end of it. Manage your tire wear throughout the race, but pressures are off the table. It's stupid. Period.
Where were you when he answered that for a couple of years? Probably a regular top fives with occasional podiums. Then a sharp decline in the last third of the season.
