Sub $40k. Not interested in huge stuff (7 series, big Mercs, etc.) What do you guys think? Audi S6? M3? M5? CTS-V? Volvo 240 with an LS swap? Something I'm forgetting?
You said sedan, or first generation viper would be perfect. Charger SRT8 is the most reasonably priced I can think of.
Not a fan of the interior, but a CTS-V would be on my list. Especially since you can get a stick if that matters to you. I'm back into an E39 M5, which is my favorite sedan ever, but man I hate keep her running sometimes.
It has to have some practicality/(potential)kid-hauling friendliness to get it past the wife. Otherwise we'd be talking Porsches.
Yeah. I like BMWs too, but I'm looking for as little headache down the road as possible. Not saying "no" headache. But definitely minimal.
I could do a wagon too. It's too bad all the Volvo V70R Turbos are so old... 300hp, AWD, and Ohlins suspension!
You are going to have to go Japanese or American then. Just how it is. I'm 99 percent sure this is my last German car. It's not that bad keeping it going, just annoying and I simply don't enjoy the process like I used to. Lexus IS-F is a ton of fun if you don't want to ever have to mess with it. Love that motor.
Nothing on your list of options is going to top reliability ratings. Id say as reliable as any other choice.
I feel like I made the context pretty clear, but I'll re-state. I asked for the most reliable 400+ HP sedans. That means reliability relative to that market segment.
09-10 Lexus IS-F.... Actually you could probably find an 11 or even a 12 reasonably priced. My 11 has been bullet proof thus far.
