id say she, is guilty as fuck in the eyes of the law. they stay charging, convicting, and collecting from soccer players for that. messi 15M & ronaldo 19M recently got done. historically samuel eto, marcherano, sanchez, falcao all come to mind.
yea dude she lived in spain and had her kids in spain during the time period they say she was diverting money. her name initially appeared in the paradise papers, which was a full blown troll job of leaking papers of countless celebrities, sports figures, and politicians who do this diversion of assets thing. not to mention, right after it came out she made a payment to the government of something like 20m in "good faith." idk if its fair or not to say she owes further but in the eyes of the spanish government she is bang on guilty. its the same shit time after time with the spanish government and their defendants. oh i wasn't in the country making that income (her defense), well honey we have a sporadic residency precedent that we use to getcha so while you say you were out on tour, we say you count as a citizen since you spend all of your down time here and are subject to our income tax laws. well i wasn't a formal spanish citizen (her defense), well honey you had your freeking kid in Barcelona, were living with you eventual husband in Barcelona so again we think and have used that to make it count in the past so pay up. id reckon they settle for a lower settlement and this whole jail sentence will never and has never happened, its usually parole or a suspended sentence. the government just wants moneyyyyy. also lorenzo successfully proved he was a citizen somewhere else. Havent seen anything about that for her.
Lorenzo is a citizen where else? I know he is a resident in Switzerland but I haven't heard anything about another citizenship. Which would be completely irrelevant for spanish tax purposes to begin with. It only matters where he spends the most nights. But let's entertain this line of thought for a minute, just for the sake of amusement: you do know that she is Colombian, right? Does that count as another citizenship, or are you ignoring it because they speak Spanish there too? Anyway, like I said, it wasn't just Lorenzo who beat the Spanish government (as he did in three previous years). Sito Pons also did. €11 million and €15 million respectively. Don't slam the prison gate on Shakira just yet. There is still a good chance you might get disappointed.
I think Spain tries that shit with everyone with a chuck of cash. If you have the bucks to fight them it sounds like you'll eventually win. Maybe they hope you'll just settle. Even if you do win it sounds like they'll try again. and again and again.
I'm sure that some if not most of those soccer players were indeed guilty. They certainly can afford the best legal representation. Those guys have a different mentality.
Where is it that the spainish all try and hide out? Andorra? What's that joke? What's the national sport of Italy? Tax evasion. Something like that.
You right, I misspoke on residency v citizenship. Regardless, she is still in the gray enough for the Spanish to consider her guilty, no? I said the eyes of the law, meaning the eyes of the Spanish law. I agree man, its shitty and I hope it gets tossed out.

Hope she wins her tax case. And, hope she moves on from the whiny attitude about her ex boy toy. Probably won’t though…hot/crazy matrix.
