Did you go? We just got back so I could test out the new 30 cal can on the 308. They gave out vip tickets to the hospitality tent with free food and swag, if you showed a receipt for spending 500 bucks or more. The suppressor receipt covered that. I won a nice set of vortex binoculars in the vip tent too, so bonus x 2. I’ve obviously been going there a lot lately……..a few of the sales guys know be by name now

 

I went Saturday but the only thing I bought were 5 for $55 range cards so I can save a few bucks when I visit my daughter and want to shoot. I did talk to a few mfgs reps to learn a bit mote about their products. It was good. Better for you though

 

Was looking for a 2 point sling with qd hardware. Amazon has the Magpul MS1 51% off for prime day. Black only. Coyote is discounted but not nearly as much.

 

Hopefully I’m not shitting on your parade too much (ie hope you didn’t already pull the trigger), but that thing blows donkey balls lol. If you want a 2 point qd quick adjust sling, the bfg Vickers probably has the best reputation, the ferro slingster is really good, and my personal favorite is the Haley D3. Magpul was the first one I ever bought and it now sits in a spare parts bin as I’d rather swap other slings around that ever use the magpul lol.

 

Oh well. Maybe I got it for what it should be sold for. If it'll carry a rifle while I'm hunting plus provide some stability for offhand shooting that's all I'm gonna ask of it.

 

So, second of 2 suppressors came good on Wednesday.
About 1 month from start to finish once form 3 for the dealer to dealer transfer was completed.
About 6 weeks overall.

Next up is install and then re-zeroing on the 2x guns they go on.
AR-15 pistol (zeroing with 55gr)
Savage 10FCP (zeroing with 75 or 77gr)

 

I took a couple days to chase bears in western MD. This Nomad is their new design. I haven’t shot it back to back with the old design but I can say it’s as good which is all I need. The size , weight and efficiency is mind blowing. I’ll be surprised if I don’t end up with more of them.

Anyone got any opinion or experience with the FN510?

 

An acquaintance of mine ha the FN45 and loves it. I’d imagine the FN10 is similar.

I shot the FN45 and I liked ir.

 

My LGS has one for $800. I like everything about it, but the trigger. It reminds me of an Sig P365 trigger. I can live with that trigger, I’m just saying to me that was the only component that wasn’t to my liking. And apparently FN is running a special on them now. They started at $1100 and reduced them to $999, and for some reason my shop has theirs for $800, so it’s got my interest to have two 10mm’s.

 

Sadly it doesn't look like Apex makes one for it... yet. Surely they will eventually right? FWIW, I've never handled one in any capacity but heard great things about them, including that they are probably the best 10mm at that price point if you can get past the notorious bad FN triggers. Much like Glocks, I've also heard of plenty of dudes just polishing up the trigger components on various FNs and claiming amazing results. Kinda BS that you'd have to do that on a gun at that price but much like quirks of other brands, just seems to be an accepted thing with striker FNs.

 

I had an fn509 . Trigger sucked . It shot fine but I didn’t enjoy it

 

Shot fine meaning I was able to get decent groups but it just didn’t feel right

I prefer a glock or 1911 sight picture and grip. I don’t like sigs. Sigs feel like an r6 like you are sitting on top where the Glock feels like sitting in the bike. The fn was in between that and rigid with a gritty trigger.

Similar here. Had an FNX-40 and a 509. Just didn't shoot them as well as my Glocks and CZs. Was eye-balling a 510 at local shop last weekend, but remembered I didn't enjoy the other FNs, so I bought another CZ. P-09 C . Shoots nice.

 

I've given Springfield like 3 chances....that brand just has not been right for me.

 

I have a few Sigs....the ones that see the most activity are my P365's. I have to admit that my P226 and P320's don't come out much since I discovered 2011's. I'm awaiting my Atlas Athena to show up, and I just put in an order on a NightHawk TRS Commander this week...so at some point the Sigs may all get liquidated to go to new homes that will enjoy them. They're far from terrible guns....I just don't hoard guns I'm not using.

I also stick to 9mm for the most part..10mm is the exception. I don't like having to have a shit ton of different kinds of ammo on hand. Even though they all shoot the same around, all my handguns are distinctly different in many ways. And I enjoy that about them.

And I have my first indoor competition this week Thursday. I'm pretty excited to start doing those. USPSA/IDPA here I come!!
