First reaction to most outdoors shots was "this looks fake as shit." Did GoT use this much CGI or did they switch to the cheap kind for this show? This one feels like they shot everything indoors.

Other than that, the level of inbreeding must have been higher in the old days because Danny was hot. These people, not so much.

 

Season 47

 

I imagine most fantasy-type shows are moving towards a more "virtual" set design rather than practical these days as the costs are significantly less when not building sets or shooting on-location in remote landscapes. I also speculate that until HotD gets it's feet under it, the producers may not be working with the same level of budget that GoT was able to garnish in it's prime........so the first season likely isn't going to have as much polish.

 

GoT had beautiful outdoors scenery right out of the gate.

I'll make temporary concessions for the fact that this one starts in King's Landing, and not in the North, and give them some time before making up my mind on how it affects the quality of the show.

 

2 episodes in and I'm not impressed yet.

It's obvious the king will die from whatever skin thing he has going on.

So far so boring.

 

I like it.

 

Ive been to Dubrovnik and Thingvellir where they filmed a lot of the original GOT. They did indeed use some CGI to alter the periphery the landscape but the shots were performed in real outdoor settings as far as I am aware. I haven't seen, and will not see the new series so I cant comment on how any of the new stuff looks.

 

The Uncle's voice sounds like Ramsay Bolton, and going with the "marry my 12 year old daughter" path upped the creepy level way beyond the incest of GoT. I found myself relieved that King Targaryan picked the more grown up option, even though it is going to be a major catalyst for the war to come.

 

I enjoy it for what it is.

 

Trying to not think into it too too much and just enjoy it for what it is. Mehhh

 

Yeah but Danny contractually refused to show tiddies after a few season.

 

She doesn't need to be naked to be hot. There's plenty of porn on the Internet if you need it that bad.

I watched both episodes last night, it was entertaining enough. Only thing I hate about a lot of shows and movies today, they film every scene so damn dark. What the hell happened to the lighting men, did they go on strike?

 

Yes but the chicks on Pornhub aren't "walking out of a burning building" hot.

 

Well, to be honest, they didn't have electricity when this documentary was taking place. So be happy they film during the day. Don't even ask how difficult it was to find and train the dragons.
