Come on...the whole deck of cards is a big media event. I merely used words to make you think a bit. If there isn't any proof of WMD, how do you think the rest of world perceives this? Without proof this whole even will become another rally cry for another terrorist origination.

Korea is a much different animal... lil kim is trying get the cash we promised him....but he does have a working reactor and a 10 million man army. But his population is starving.... It doesn't help that he's nuts and looks like Don King.

One crisis you forgot about. Because of this war with IRAQ we completely forgot real terrorist organizations, Hamas, Hesbola, Al-Quaeda and Taliban.

Yeap. Big monster brass ones. A person who I thought was a wimp turned out to be a near Reagan.
Afghanistan, Iraq and now peace keeping troops to Liberia. Plus the fact he's moving troops out of Germany to Poland and other Eastern European countries shows that he can't we wavered.

This statement proves how clueless and short sighted you are man.

The way the "political landscape" in the Middle East is right now. We could pop Al Quaeda and Hamas terrorists all day long and another poor, nothing else to live for, and lied to by his Iman kid will step up to take his place as fast or faster than we can kill them.

The war in Iraq wasn't about oil, wasn't about WMDs, it really wasn't even about freeing the Iraqi people (though that is a good side effect). It was about breaking the deadlock in the Middle East, and forcing the Arab world to resolve its "issues".

Yeah its going to be risky. Things could blow up and get real ugly. BUT we were headed down that path anyway if no one did anything. A free, stable, prosperous Iraq has the potential to spark a renaissance for the Arabs that will pull them into the 21st century.

All you whiners who can't see past your own fantasies and paranoia aren't helping...

WMDs, terrorist links and Saddam's human rights abuses were the only reasons presented to invade Iraq.

You're saying the Bush administration had ulterior motives all along and deliberately concealed them in order to justify a war that otherwise likely would never have received support??

This is why I think Wolfowitz is such a jack-ass...he had a hard on for regime change well before 9/11... If you don't believe go read his national security doctrine. Tank paraphrased it.

Wolfowitz wanted to invade IRAQ...right after 9/11, and not Afghanistan. Think about it. He wanted to overthrow Saddam more than get the Al-Quaeda.

The only guy playing with a full deck in Washington is Colin Powell. He was one who insisted they must try to resolve the IRAQ issue through diplomatic channels / UN.

Through the UN resolution 1441 the US lead us to believe IRAQ was inevitable threat. Listing following WMDs, terrorist links and human rights.

The UN / US where given a chance to prove these violation. Brought in weapons inspectors etc. Growing wery with the issue dragging on to long in UN, the US declared war IRAQ. Without any proof, the White House assured us the proof would be easily found. You know the rest....

how many times must team moronic be reminded of the gross incompetence the U.N. has displayed over the last 13 years? it's getting a bit old. how will he defend the HUNDREDS of times that the iraqi government REFUSED to allow them to inspect anything. how many times will you guys even bother with this prick at all. he's shown you a million times what an idiot he is. i can see him jerking off to each and every miserable attempt of yourselves injecting morality into his pea-brain.

    it really is quite old.

i'd include due north in that statement as well.

Actually Wolfowitz wanted to knock over Iraq during Desert Storm and knew that sooner or later we would have to confront Saddam again. To him and most of the administration 9/11 was the imputus to go on the offensive against the various perceived threats to the US around the world. STARTING with Bin Laudin's bunch AND Iraq.

Truth be told, even degraded by 10 years of UN sanctions, Iraq was a MUCH bigger threat than Al-Quaeda could ever be. Even with their money, training camps, and intel network, they don't have near the resources of a country, so Wolfowitz's instinct may have been correct. It is only that Saddam was more interested in butchering his own people and staying in power, while Al-Quaeda are the "loose-cannons" of the Islamic Extreme.

Powell is a pragmatist and a conservative in every sense of the word (you'd like him :p). The risks inherient in upsetting the status quo are probably what bothered him the most.

Well, we couldn't very well go to the UN and ask for permission to dig out some very bad men and reshape a troubled part of the world could we?
I hate to break it to you, but the UN is NOT a benevolent world government, it is a structure for looking after the interests of members states, even the evil ones.
Because the UN would never allow it, even if WMDs were found. It is not what the UN does. But we have only been able to look in Iraq for a few months, the music hasn't stopped playing yet.

I just hope the reason we can't find them isn't because the terrorists already have them...

SO The cause is just the outcome is more just!

Like I said before Sometimes Machiavelli is right the end does justify the means. And 5 years from now when George W is leaving the presidency as one of the nations most forward thinking and popular presidents you will realize that!
