Really, really good interview with Marc. Interview is too long to post directly, but it's worth a read. I stole the translated version from Reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/motogp/comments/yasq94/extensive_interview_with_marc_márquez_by_as_ahead/ https://as.com/motor/motociclismo/marquez-mi-hermano-dice-que-me-va-a-ganar-con-la-ducati-n/
I would hope that someone that loves motorsports as much as he did would have things laid out how he wants them. But that did cross my mind also
Kinda doubt it. Red Bull is a lifestyle brand if anything. Nothing setting them apart from the other sugar waters if they aren’t sponsoring inane shit.
Crust, who or what? Online gambling? A chain of noodle shops in Indonesia? An African dictator’s son? I should go look but that guy weirds me the f@ck out.
Maybe they think he just had a bad post-injury year on a bike that needs improvement. Just 2 seasons ago he was crushing it. Worst case scenario, he does 1 more year and gets the boot. But maybe he recovers to his pre injury form. I know I'm curious to see how he does, he's one of the guys that I really root for on the grid.
I do need a new one. Loaned mine out and the parents backed over it with a mini van and I got a Warrior as a replacement. Fits like shit and can’t add a throat guard that I like.
It's a lot easier to do when the guy wants to leave. If he doesn't want to fight the contract breach, there is no issue.
What would eating the salary mean? I'm assuming his contract guarantees monetary consideration, but is there any language guaranteeing him a ride? If not, I'd guess it's ~$1 million to simply pay him what he's owed and put someone else on the bike. In the grand scheme of motoGP annual budgets, it doesn't seem like all that much.
