Those new systems are cool and all, but are they Atari 2600 cool...?

you’re oblivious. The 3000 series has not made any 20 series a relic.

Not for anything on the planet. Flight sim and Assasins Creed were the only two games on your "obsolete" list to not hit 60fps in 4K. 99% of the 4K monitors on the planet only run at 60hz. You're spouting bullshit and misinformation to people who may be looking to get into PC gaming.

Hey asshole, I originally posted about VR.
You claimed that a 1000 series will do just fine.
It will at the lowest setting if you want a shitty VR experience.
Anyone that has been able to get a 3000 series that actually runs VR has raved about the difference in performance over 2080's.

I still have mine and it still works. Even the original joysticks.

Funny how I can play those games for hours, but get fucking bored on ps3 games after 30 min.

New games care more about graphics than game play.

I wish I still had mine. I mowed many lawns to earn the money for my 2600 and all the games I had. I might have to get one of the reproductions that’s already loaded with a bunch of games.

I built one of these for my wife when the Nintendo classic was first released but was sold out:

All in was about $80 and that includes multiple wireless controllers. Have around 100 atari, Nintendo, super Nintendo and Sega genesis games and it's a blast

    That's awesome!

I remember when I was a kid I thought the games were supposed to look graphically like the artwork on the cartridge box. When you actually got it home it was quite different.

I have one of those raspberry pi emulators as well and after having access to the entire catalogue of titles for all those early systems, the one take away I have is that an overwhelming majority of the games are garbage/borderline unplayable. The blockbuster titles on the other hand are still solid after 100's of replays.

So much this. I got my roms from https://m.emuparadise.me/ and looking at all the garbage titles made me realize just how much nostalgia can make you remember the good and forget all the terrible

that's why I don't understand people buying old stuff, especially cars. People pay 6 figures for a old car. I can show them 100 cars that can out perform it, probably even a Toyota Camry these days can blow the doors off some old cars worth 6 figures.
