its just a disagreement of perception. I strongly believe that some regulation is needed to prevent employers from taking advantage of the weakest or most historically oppressed among us. Pickled thinks that it all should be between the employer and employee. We are likely both wrong and the best place is probably somewhere in the middle.
I read it. The accusations themselves seem a bit over-the-top. Paula Deen, while planning her brother's wedding in 2007, was asked what look the wedding should have. She replied, "I want a true southern plantation-style wedding." When asked what type of uniforms the servers should wear, Paula stated, "well what I would really like is a bunch of little n*ggers to wear long-sleeve white shirts, black shorts and black bow ties, you know in the Shirley Temple days, they used to tap dance around; That doesn't sound plausible. Black staff had to use the back entrance to enter and leave restaurant; If there's a staff entrance, then that's what employees are expected to use. Common situation. Black staff could only use one bathroom; If there is am employee bathroom, staff is expected to use only that bathroom. Not unusual. Black staff couldn’t work the front of the restaurants; I don't see how that could be possible, but some staff certainly could have been told to stay out of dining areas. Back of the house jobs require getting dirty and sweaty, and dressing accordingly. If they're speaking about wait staff or hostesses, who knows, but that's not what the article says.
I am not quite as "fight prone" as I used to be. This is a direct by product of discontinuing unnecessary hormone treatment. Turns out sleep apnea and low T look the same symptom wise.
