What are the flicks you feel are all-time greats? I didn't really start watching movies until I was in my late 30's, so my perspective may be skewed. I have a few picks: Good Fellas, of course. Possibly the greatest of all time IMHO. Forest Gump. Cheesy at times, but still great. Braveheart. Yes, I got teary eyed at the end. Fuck you. Se7en. Hell yes. No Country For Old Men. Some hated it. I loved it. Stand By Me. Silence of The Lambs. Midnight Run. Some surprises that just didn't work for me: The Godfather. Tried twice, couldn't get past the first 20 minutes. I'll try again, since everyone raves about it. Apocalypse Now. Thought it would be great. No. ScarFace. Dunno why, other than typical Al Pacino overacting. Whatcha got?
HEAT MOTHERFUCKER!! HEAT!!! FIGHT CLUB!!! TRUE TOMANCE! Reservoir Dogs Pulp Fiction Casablanca the Lost boys alien & aliens(2) Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind the entire dark knight series the the first matrix. Not the 2nd or 3rd IT. Go see rocky horror.... At a rocky horror picture show OOOOOH! point break!!!!! my friend Bojesse played Grommet. Fucking badass movie!!!!
The fact that Cortez has the sophistication to appreciate Casablanca hath forced me to reassess my opinion of the boy. He might be alright. Definitely a timeless, epic film. I can't possibly list all the films I'd consider epic but I will recommend James Cagney in White Heat to anybody who likes gangsta movies. It's the benchmark imo. But I won't leave the thread without plugging the Outlaw Josey Wales. Never gets old. "Watch him 'lige! I seen him do some things!" "He's meaner than a rattler and twice as fast with them pistols!"
I take that back. You just lost all credibility. Well, most. If you would have said The Bridges of Madison County was Eastwood's finest work, THEN you'd lose all credibility.
Man I fucking LOVE movies almost as much as I love music, lipstick and tranny hookers (all 4 of which could probably be due to growing up in HelLA) I love ALL movies. Even bad ones. It takes so much to make one. I have a real appreciation for filmmaking. Want some awesome obscure films?
