There's some good'n's here. Some I haven't seen mentioned yet: A Bronx Tale. ("Look at me... I'm the one who did this to you... Remember me." Awesome line. ) Kingpin. Inglorious Basterds. We were Soldiers. Saving Private Ryan. The first 15 minutes... I simply can not fathom how those men walked with balls that big. Hearing bullets whack the bottom of the ramp of your Higgins boat knowing it was about to drop & seng you through a gate to hell. Eff that. Hit the wayback machine for the Caine/Kane brothers: The Caine Mutiny. Citizen Kane.
Everyone's listed most of the classics already. A newer flick that's gone down as one of the GOAT's for me is End Of Watch. I normally hate cop movies, but this one was done right. The way they talk to each other and the shit they pull on each other was too familiar.
Everything already listed but I'll add the OG Die Hard..Must have watched that a thousand times as a kid..No one listed Apollo 13 yet, good flick.. Close Encounters is a epic one as well.
I know some people didn't like it, but when I watched Argo in the theatre I was literally on the edge of my seat the whole time. That was tense.
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly The Draughtsman's Contract Shoah The English Patient Miller's Crossing
We Were Soldiers - needs to be in every history class ... Period Crash Original Star Wars trilogy - how has this not been mentioned yet?? Titanic - cheesy, but it was a game-changer Rocky - how was it not epic? Avatar - same category as Titanic Edit: I'll also add Lone Soldier to this mix - awesome story. Made me proud to be an American just to be associated with those men in any way possible.
Just a few. I NEVER buy movies so they've got to be good. I have: Snatch Super Troopers Grand Torino A few I watch on tv every time I see them listed: Shawshank Redemption Pulp Fiction Princess Bride Matrix
Bullitt is in my collection. 2001 is definitely on the list. Open the pod bay doors Hal. I'm sorry Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.
