an attempt at sarcasm, I presume (given who the "president" currently is)?

I'm sure you think your sentence doesn't require a comma, but it does.

    Government shutdown

Do some research on the last "Government shutdown" that happened during the budget deal in 2011 or 2012 iirc. Only non essential portions were shut down. The overwhelmingly majority of government didn't miss a beat while the overwhelmingly majority of Americans were non effected and didn't even notice the "shut down".

Then you had Douschebag government employees going out of their way to block access to public places while trying to make things unnecessarily difficult on the tax payers to try and justify their existance and bring attention to them even though they weren't needed.

So to answer the question. Yes. Shut down all non essential portions permanently and build the wall.

The last thing the politicians want is another shutdown. The more of them we have, the more it proves that so much of it is not necessary.

But yes, it is OK to shut down the government.

Very true. But I think the bigger question is, should Trump be pushing so hard to fund the wall and the answer is already clear to a majority of Americans. If you go look at any polls on the subject (which always sample more leftists), around 80% of Americans want the wall.

Not to let facts get in the way of a good story, but that number sounded so crazy I had to do some fact-checking...................turns out, it was an "alternative fact".

Oh wow, I stand corrected. I remember a few polls showing it the other way, was that last year? Is this just what Google puts on the first page? I am really curious.

Not going to check any of the links, but a fair number stated opposition to funding the wall. I'm not claiming support for a wall is different, but the question isn't the same.

That's interesting and I'm glad you pointed this out. So I did some more searching and came across an informative story from someone who did some digging on how the polls were asking the question. This has some good info in it including a little history on Clinton's push to get a wall done. If you care to learn some more info:

I wonder the same thing Acree, is this the difference in funding or not? Was the poll question worded as funded? Check out the link I posted, it sheds some light on the subject.

I looked into the pew research one
    http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tan...-s-border-wall-doubt-mexico-would-pay-for-it/
    Methodology

I'm very skeptical on polling data. 1,500 doesn't speak for all Americans, it doesn't state what areas they sampled other than US and DC. Who the F here answers a polling phone call ?
Maybe Americans want a wall, maybe they don't but based on what's gone on with the elections can polling data be used as a reliable source anymore?

Blkduc, you just said that a poll came out the 80% of Americans want the wall. So now that the poll doesn't fit what you said, it has to be the wording of the question?

Or, could it be if the wall was paid for by Mexico, 80% of American would want the wall? But since Mexico isn't goin pay for the wall, 80% of Americans dont want the wall?

    Just trying to be clear.

So if polling agree with you, it's good, if it doesn't agree with you it the numbers can be manipulated?

Personally, I favor better border security. Overhaul the system if need be. I don't care if the wall is literal or figurative.

Sure, "just to be clear"...I don't know the answer and I'm perfectly comfortable in admitting that. I'm not confident in polls as a general rule because of the sampling errors and questions asked just as the linked article found out about the pew research poll. I posted a bunch of questions because I don't know and encouraged you to read what I found so you could better inform yourself.

It's hard to sort through all the BS when the media is so damn dishonest, so if we want to be better informed we have to work harder know what I mean?
