Kawasaki released a couple videos to the media recently it seems. A couple of news articles resulted today: https://www.roadracingworld.com/new...ok-at-the-all-new-2023-kawasaki-ninja-zx-4rr/ https://www.superbikeplanet.com/more-2023-kawasaki-ninja-zx-4rr-video-here-test-bike-soon/
So I haven't read the whole discussion here, but is this thing going to be eligible for MotoAmerica's Junior Cup?
If you're racing WERA it's not even close... the twins classes are way more popular and plentiful. The D classes will have you racing against a couple old guys and a kid on an R3 that'll smoke you.
Really ? 2022 Yamaha YZF-R3 Claimed Specifications MSRP: $5,299/$5,499 (World GP Edition) Engine: 321cc, DOHC, liquid-cooled inline-twin; 4 valves/cyl. Bore x Stroke: 68.0 x 44.1mm Transmission/Final Drive: 6-speed/chain Cycle World Measured Horsepower: 36 hp @ 10,700 rpm Cycle World Measured Torque: 19.8 lb.-ft. @ 9,000 rpm
I think anyone can speculate all they want . Until the bike is released and tested , you can't say it will get smoked .
ok, so I was wrong. Let me clarify...I was referring to the kid, not the bike in relation to the guy I was replying to.
You're out of context. The OP being a "mature" racer was comparing old guys in D class racing against a kid on a R3. No doubt the 400 will be capable. Personally, I'd like to see Chuck Graves show up at MA in 2024 with 20 prepped Ninja 400RRs and the kids just need to show up and ride. Doubtful....
Just like "An Old Guy" riding a 600 could get "smoked" by a more accomplished "kid" on a Twins bike. I'm not dealing in apples to apples . And seeing as I started the tread , would I not be the OP ?
How is the chassis "World Superbike inspired"? It holds the wheels to the engine? It would be awesome to have a spiritual replacement for the FZR400, but like many have already said, smaller and lighter would have been better. At least it's not electric....
