Who is buying and racing one? List parts here as they come available. Tell why you think they are trash or great. I have a Raven reserved when it gets here
I also have one reserved (sort of....no money down). Looks like delivery to the east coast won't be until April or May at the earliest. The dealers were originally told January, and that might actually happen, for those on the west coast. Much of the after market race parts will take even longer...2025 will be difficult.
Put my money down on a 'Team Yamaha Blue' one about a month ago. At that time I was told late March/early April here in California. No plans for racing, this will be my new track day bike after spending 10+ years flogging my clapped out SV. Looking forward to modern ergonomics, electronics, and especially the auto blipper. No plans to trick it out too much, probably just an ECU flash and suspension. They had a display bike at a local dealership for an afternoon, so I got to take a good look at it, sit on it, play with the fancy dash, start it, rev it up a bit. All the bits and pieces look nice, much more R than MT. To get an idea what the motor is like I took my buddy's 2017 MT09 for a spin. Great torque, sounds great, and gets going pretty good when you rev it up.
I have one coming. Parts are trickling in that are available universally. Master cylinder Clip ons Chain/sprockets etc.. Bike specific stuff hopefully will start showing up soon through GYTR.
Chuck Giachetto at Giaccmoto has been developing and sourcing race parts and knowledge for some time now
Yeah I was originally told Jan but was told March now. No worries though, I have neck surgery mid-late feb c6-7 fusion and will be down 6-8 weeks. Will do exhaust and some other goodies while healing
#3rd paragraph "They had a display bike at a local dealership for an afternoon, so I got to take a good look at it, sit on it, play with the fancy dash, start it, rev it up a bit. All the bits and pieces look nice, much more R than MT."
I won't match the R9 So I'm passing it on to a racer. I have 7 Arai here that I can wear on street and my eye on one if I decide to dip my toes in racing again
Ha ha no worries. I was glad to get a chance to go see it, I spent a long time there, looking over every detail on that bike, kept trying to find something I didn't like but it all looked good to me. There were folks coming and going but there were a few of us who were really geeking out on it, checking out all the modes, etc.
