Not to de-rail...I have considered becoming a returning rider...I was looking at the R9, but don't think it would happen this year. My second choice is the RS660. Looks decent power and light. I had a Monster 1100 evo for a while, looks to be similar HP but I am hoping the useable rpm range is better on the RS660. The Monster had from about 4k-8k to work with...either end of that sucked. One thing I question with the Ape is why in the world did they not put compression valve adjustment on the front?? Anyway, would like more feedback as to what you like about it. Mine would used for some street and maybe some track. My son picked up a ZX400RR that he is wanting to track some. His is a fun bike but I want a little more HP, even with the tune and pipe is hard to pass cars, I am just used to a little more. Feel free to DM me if needed so this tread doesn't get cluttered...
Mine is strictly a street bike but for me being almost 58 with two back surgeries behind me ot does everything right. Confortable, plenty of power for street, looks beautiful, nimble. Some off the guys racing them can chime in on the track aspects of it.
So, less wheel spin on corner exit, but what negatives do you pick up from extending the wheel base to 57.5inches? Does that detract from the bike's flickability?
Depends.. remember that you have triples thrown into the mix so you are moving things around. Overall probably not super noticeable but we’ll find out shortly
100% accurate. I work with two different suppliers. One is running 24/7, with hours available to anyone who wants to run any line/machine. They’ve had an additional building in the works, for more than a year. Planning commission, contractors, and machining station availability have all been problems. The other supplier is running 24/6, with the foundry department being the limiting factor, as that’s the worst job in the plant and the workers refuse to be further enslaved. It recently took them 8 months to get an additional production line up and running, because of station issues. They’re shipping more parts than I’ve seen in 2-1/2yrs of working with them.
Made a lot more sense on a single sided arm that would've been much more restricted to length due to the eccentric hub design. Seems like it'd be quite easy to add length to the dual arm as long as you're not also trying to alter shock location.
