I love this kind of stuff - what modern change is WERA missing? An app? What good would that do for us or our customers? The ASRA modernity hasn't worked for them...
It varies depending on the event, the last however many years most of the pre endurance fFidays were an n2 trackday.
You mean like WERA has been doing for over 50 years? We have always tried working with other orgs on everything including rules and scheduling. Some it works great with - CMRA and even some out west still using our endurance rules just because they asked if they could - most of the time however it doesn't.[/quote]
Yes and no. Everyone wants their own ways, which I get it, it's the American thing we can do. I don't like the way you do X, so I'm going to make my own instead. But in the current construct, WERA/ASRA/ARMA are all competing against each other - at the expense of everyone.
Well, talk to them, as I said we've been doing it 50+ years, before they started thinking they knew how to do it better (for those not up on racing history, the only org doing races longer is AFM). Oddly enough for the last 40+ WERA has been run successfully by the same person while all the others have gone through different boards or in the case of CCS/ASRA and many others across the country failed multiple times. What I feel bad about is having to abandon regions because of people thinking they know how to do it better and we cant justify throwing away money until they realize they can't do it better or until they no long get the killer deal on track rental or orgs like GLRRA having your rich sponsor realize it'll never make money the way it's being done and pull their backing. It truly sucks for the riders because then the region is underserved for a while until we can attempt to get things going again.
it was a hypothetical. i called before the season started as their changes stirred up a few questions i had as i was on the fence with them from appearing very disorganized. the refund thing was something Mark volunteered up, i didnt ask about it. they dropped one of my classes, so it was also a no brainer. it sucks for me because i live in the north east and i really like the tracks they go to. Road Atl for example, took me 30 hours to get there. NJMP is usually 8 hours, and summit is 9-10.
The only one is would disagree with is AHRMA on that front. I've run several of their rounds and I'd argue that many of their classes aren't "racing". It's circulating and parade laps where in other orgs they'd get black flagged. I understand your argument though and it holds merit.
Can you name any friends that have raced with ASRA, had a crash/mechanical and wasn't issued credits?
One would think that if you've been dealing with these tracks for so long, you'd be the one getting the killer deal on rentals. What gives?
honestly, almost everyone i know that was racing CCS pretty much quit when the new owners took over. they may have been issuing credits after that conversation was made, i havnt bothered to ask around. just seemed like a poor rule to retain customers, along with that $150 post-reg fee (which i know has been modified)
There is no intention of running sprints or competing directly with WERA, ASRA, PanAM, etc.... N2RA will be an Endurance Race Series. More info coming soon.
Bullshit. Endurance racing is direct competition. Lie to yourself all you like but don't try it on here. Fuck all of you for what you're doing after the years of Evelyne working with you.
See ya', I'm chickenshitting my way out of here for the rest of today. Ya'll have fun and if you need anything bug Papa.
I've trained so much competition over the year, from when I was in the trades to my current business. It truly sucks. I totally get why you're pissed.
Meh, I'm done for now too. I've been ridiculously nice about this all season, I'll try to do it for one more event. But I won't put up with the stupid it's not competition or we didn't do this to be mean to Evelyne bullshit.
Upside is based on many times of this same crap happening - they never truly learn how to do it right. Downside is it'll ruin what was a great thing for a lot of people. Also for those thinking any of this on either side is about money, not remotely, we get no income from the series at all and they used trackday income to pay purses.
