This would be the 4th gen. The third gen MSRP was about $2K, can be found in the $1500 range. Don't know what the gen 3 custom shop went for. The butt stock looks to be a real improvement. Integral arca rail on the forend. Custom shop model has a heavier contour stainless barrel, a triggertech of some sort, and a better brake than the base model. I think they're pricing themselves out of their own customer base, but I thought the same with the gen 2 American but those are selling so what do I know.

I gave up on the Montana Rifle 375 H&H idea, seems like a good bunch trying to do their best but they were 6 months behind their timeline on having the 375 H&H released. Pulled the trigger on a used CZ 550 American Safari 375 H&H, CZ discontinued these in 2020, they were a popular option for those like me that can’t afford or will not pay $15,000 for a safari gun. The rifle looks like new old stock, looking forward to sending some heavy metal down range and eventually into the shoulder or brain pan of some dangerous game.

Started accumulating parts to build a .350 Legend upper, for the grand daughter. Went with a Shaw barrel, heard they were the goto for ar platform 350 accuracy. Got the bug to update the wife's Sig M400 upper (223/556). Might be ordering another Larue barrel, the two I have now shoot lights out. It never ends. Ski

Got a pretty sweet shot of a coyote on the run last night at 275ish yards. Then about 2 hrs later I hit one at 475, but the shot was off, and it kept on running. Could not find it unfortunately.

Here’s a link to the 275 yd on the run.

Wow! Are you getting any snow? We got a bunch today. Might make for some good hunting.

It doesn't sound like you need confirmation, but I have a Larue barrel on one of mine and it's the best I have. They don't mess around.

Trying to remember where but I saw larue uppers on a crazy sale somewhere recently. Enough so that I’d have found it difficult to justify a new barrel as opposed to the entire upper in your shoes. I don’t even need one and still damn near pulled the trigger. Only thing that stopped me is I had already bought another complete rifle elsewhere just a couple hours earlier.

Not very much at all. I’m more northern Illinois, about an hour north of Peoria. Oddly enough, south of I-80 always gets slammed. Peoria is suppose to get like 8” tonight, and we’re getting nothing but a dusting. We got about an inch last week, but that’s it so far.

I would do that too. If you remember where you saw it, tag me, and post a link. I have two of their stealth uppers in 18" barrel configs. As stated before, they both shoot lights out. And when I say that, I mean better than most bolt guns in .223. Ski

Seekins PH3, very cool! I really like the switch barrel and bolt head capability, and it fits in its own stock with integral mini chassis and the HIT chassis. It's what I've been waiting for in that one rifle can be configured for hunting, range, competition, and multiple calibers without it being unattainable.

Got it shooting right. It’s back to being a tack driver There was some rust or carbon or something throwing off the bullets towards the end of the rifle.

still gonna sell it because I’m over the Ruger action. I’m too spoiled

Any of ya'll know how to read bullet markings with the sharpie trick? In hornady black box ammo, there will be like 3 or so per. box that are really hard to close the bolt

It doesn't really look like that round is engaging in the rifling. Maybe the case is just outta spec? Cleaned the chamber recently? I've never had an issue with factory ammo. Usually, they're seated way off the lands, and virgin brass usually slides in and out of the chamber relatively easy.

yeah from online stuff kinda sounds like it could be something in the chamber

Whenever I clean barrels I use a chamber mop to get crap out of there, it's amazing how much can get lodged there and at the bolt face.

Seekins has a NRL variant of the PH3. They did the same with the PH2. It was built specifically for stock lightweight class (I think) in NRL Hunter. As far as I can tell a Triggertech Diamond and a brake are the only functional upgrades over the standard rifle. And it has a lower tier Triggertech, so still a pretty damn nice trigger. I don't see where the $400 price difference is. The base rifle is $1900. At that price it should have a brake.

What rifle is this? Hard to see anything obvious there.

I recently got a "great deal" on a Savage 110 tactical 308. Thing was clearly built on a friday. After figuring out the ejector had green loctite in the plunger hole (wtf?) it still Chambered about 50% of rounds some rounds real hard. Next, there was some copper shaving donut in the end of the neck, the extractor had a bur, and the scope base was loose. I finally have it working, but it has a very minimum spec neck and leade, so cases that aren't trimmed to near minimum don't chamber very well, and bullets touch the lands without being much over COAL specs.

Wife bought me a Burris Veracity PH scope with the HUD for range elevation, I cant get it to connect to the phone very well, cant upload my ballistics to the scope. Nice idea, poor execution on Burris. Frustrating to say the least. Right now it is a 1200 dollar paperweight. Ski
