My comment was more about the fact that KTM continues to shoot itself in the foot by having a new bike coming only to launch it after prime selling season. Independent of whether street riding is popular again, launching a new product after peak selling season, or months after its been announced, or not having available inventory at dealers as all the reviews and reveals are going to print effectively still births a product. In my experience, those sales are not delayed sales; they are missed sales. Apropos of this thread's main theme being KTM's cybertruck fire of a financial situation, I thought that it was worth mentioning. Apologies if I missed where your comment was going. Whatchu mean? I get mean leans on my leader bike. That 315 rear and six foot chrome swingy are the jammy jam in the twisties.
Yes sir, he's part of our Louisville group on the ADV Forum. Good guy and takes care of his machines.
We have one of his past bikes here.. Orange ‘06 950SM.. went to Ohio to get it..LoL.. Guess he is suffering from PreMature “OhNo I’m Old” syndrome.
I thought about you when I was looking at the bike, remembered you were into them. I would have preferred orange, but stealth is good too.
I don't know what the deal was. I've actually ridden with most of the other guys in the group but not this guy. He seems like a good dude and almost went through as many bikes as me, then all the sudden said he was done. I might check out the Guzzi he has, I believe I have 8 square feet of space left in my garage
I would have checked it out for you. I noticed it out of the corner of my eye but didn't want to look directly at it cause...gross... Italian Harley
Yeah, it's not really my thing either. Maybe if I got it cheap enough I'd goof with it for a couple months.
I was driving back from breakfast today in my small-town Winston Salem N.C, and got stuck behind to huge Semi Tractor trailer type trucks. These were like you see in MotoGP, but were for Off-road. KTM & GAS GAS. They both looked to be new and turned into this location below. https://www.engagesme.com/ https://www.engagesme.com/our-work/ must be having some kind of re-fit. I'm guessing Off road KTM & GAS GAS are still selling dirt bikes.
@speedkelly I have no clue where you got the idea KTM, Husky and GasGas were not selling bikes. It's been business as usual at their dealerships. There are some uncertainties regarding some of their future model bikes, but we often don't know what a manufacturer has planned for the future. Austrian production facilities became active again a week or two ago, after the courts approved a debt restructuring plan for Pierer Mobility AG.
I was in Germany last week and we went into Austria to visit the Motohall KTM museum in Mattighofen. All I can say is that place is nothing short of fucking incredible. They didn't spare a single expense when they built that museum.
Same with their new '32 acre, 130,000 sq. ft. $53M campus' in Murrieta, California opened in April of '23
Has anyone heard any new news about that place? I heard rumors that it was both for sale entirely and/or they were open to taking in subletters for some of their space.
Word I got from one of the KTM reps at COTA is that they're looking at a December roll-out of the 990RC in the states. Not sure if that's news to anyone else or not because I've lost track
