1. How does KTM's financial situation effect you guys? 2. Will you ever make a bike with other manufacturer engines? 3. I have two friends with your product under the KTM sticker (8c RC). One had a gas leak out the box and the other had his stand bend and drop the bike with 4k damage. What are you doing in the factory for better quality control?
$4000.00 in damage from falling off a stand? Edit: did it fall off the back of a moving truck when the stand bent?
New OEM parts and dealer labor are expensive as hell. How does a stand bend under the weight of a motorcycle is the real question...
If it was the KTM branded stands, those are sus as hell (I barely trust them to hold up my 690, and there's no fucking way I'd sit on the bike on those stands - but they're orange and branded, so I stay with them). With Pit Bull stands, I'd be able to put my extended family on the bike with no issues.
Meh. I've got big boy stands on the bike that needs them. If my 690 falls off, I'm not gonna cry (but as you can kinda see from the pics, the build quality is total trash).
Probably right now. They (pegs, bars, bar mounts, rear set mounts) look the same as the Evo2 and GP2 stuff.
1. It doesn't really affect us. KTM is cutting budget on marketing and staffing, and moving some production to India and China. The engines we use are made in Austria, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. 2. At some point, I would imagine yes. We've talked to a few OEMs already, and most of them aren't too keen on the idea. It really comes down to where their brands are positioning, whether they view Krämer as competition or not, and what they can accommodate in their supply chain. 3. I'd like to hear more details about this "gas leak out the box" because I'm not quite sure what that means. DM me. As for the stand, that's not a Krämer deal. You'd have to talk to KTM about the stand that they provided to their customer. As for QC as a whole, we were just on a call last week talking about delaying a new model to market because we want to implement more testing and QC across the factory development process. So, we take QC pretty seriously.
Very few parts are shared with the EVO2. I am 90% sure that the rearset assembly is the same still, but there was talk of having either a different part (or an optional part) for this, so we can cater to even smaller riders. If it's an EVO2 part, it's in stock now, and available on KMCUSAparts.com right for delivery. If it's a part that's bespoke to the APX line, we'll have those in stock starting in January/February. They will be available online, and also from our parts truck at each MA round. Teams ordering bikes will be able to make an initial parts order as well, so the bike and their spares are arriving at the same time.
