@cota.kitty I'm not your target audience but I've enjoyed reading this thread. Thank you for taking the time to engage with your customer base.
The wife has been warned and the card is already preloaded. Let’s get after it. It would be in your best interest to give me a heads up so I can prepare with a handful of bush lights which makes me not feel the pain of racing as bad.
How is distribution on the paid for bikes going to work. Will there be an option for these to be shipped to us or do we have to figure out transportation of the bikes ourselves?
Hey customers, if you are picking your bike up, please remember to bring cash so Jensen doesn't have to give some of his profit to the banks. Or mail him a check he can cash ahead of time. 3 to 4% for C.C. fees cuts into any small business bottom line substantially.
The kid got to race one at Brainerd last month. He got 5 laps on it and matched his PB on the ZX6 and podiumed in the Unlimited race. Definitely a weapon.
I don’t have much to say other than I’m stoked about you guys having a spec bike in MA and y’all getting the attention you deserve. I like to wrench, but I can only afford to run one bike on the track. I’m tired of trying to fit a square peg in a round hole by converting a street bike over to a race bike. It’s fun but it’s time consuming and frustrating for me most of the time. A pit buddy lent me his 690S for the last session of the day. I was on the fence about dropping that kinda money on a bike but that ride was all it took to convert me. I love my FZ, and it’s been a wonderful learning tool, but I think it’s time to move on. Like someone else mentioned, I’m bummed that the 690S on the chopping block. It’s a phenomenal value and I’d be hard pressed to think that I can leverage the extra capability of the 690R (that AIM dash is compelling though). Fortunately for me, I may have an immaculate used one lined up for purchase. Keep up the great work. You guys might even get me to ride my first two stroke ever.
What is your height, weight and level of flexibility? The rear sets and the seat are adjustable so unless you're a bit on the larger size, you should fit just fine on a 690. It is bigger than a GP bike but it isn't a big bike with a lot of power, however, so keep that in mind if have racing one is your plan. There were 7-8 690s and a few 890s at the NJMP AHMRA round; sorry you missed it.
6', 170lbs. I find my 848 comfortable and can still fold myself up for the RS250. No racing in my future either - mostly just curious for now. I had to miss the NJMP AHMRA round (and the track day that proceeded it) because of a long work trip. Two Brittens and a YZR500!
Just a request, and I know you're not in charge of it but probably have some input... The bikes are due end of February, the first round is with MotoGP March 29th... it would be sure be nice if the tire test was at COTA the preceding weekend/week.
I expect you'll fit comfortably. I'm 5'10" 160lb with a 32" inseam and imagine two more inches would make little difference. I know of folks over 6' on 690s and they look comfortable.
How nice is it that the cota round is the weekend before the barber round. That was good timing. Thats two weeks being pulled away from school and work. Perfect!
I'm 6'1" 180 lbs and find it to be quite roomy. Definitely a lot larger than the Priller 250. Also a lot taller.
Maybe they would let him in the A group with those times and he could mix it up with you on your K5 leader bike.
