Naw, we just recorded a short thing for the pre-event show. When we get some production bodywork on it, I'd be keen to let just about anyone give it a ride. We're not stingy on test rides with our demo bikes.
Dang, I better hurry up and get some new leathers that fit me! I'm already familiar with the motors characteristics in my dirt bike.
Great of you to do this. Not a 350 question specifically but applies to that bike also; Are there larger gas tanks available for the 690? Maybe one that has a cap that could be converted to a quick fill?
I haven't read through this thread, so pardon me if these questions have been asked or answered. First, thanks for coming forward. Will there be support in the way of spares at the track, and will the pricing be the same as a retail purchase off track? KTM supported the old Cup series with parts and services. Uli of KTM was excellent for technical updates and making sure everyone had the same info. For example, at one round he passed out replacement fasteners for slipping water pump impellers. That was great but on the other hand, consistently cracking fiberglass shark fins on swing arm cost stupid money. Thanks
The GP2 will bolt-up to the EVO2. I am not sure about quick-fill options, but the opening is the same as on the EVO2.
It’s a good question, and certainly one worth discussing. Krämer USA will be at every round with a parts and service truck and trailer (40’), that will include an entire spare bike as well, in case someone really sends it. We also plan to be the trackside service center for anyone on WP Suspension. All parts will be sold at the track for the same price as our online store. We have over a quarter-million of parts inventory in our US warehouse and plan on even more to support the MotoAmerica program. Service is one of the things we really hang our hat on here in the USA (ask our customer how easy it is to technical support from Krämer Joe or one of the other guys), and we really want to showcase that with our MotoAmerica involvement.
No doubt! I raced the original EVO2R demo at Laguna after it had lord knows how many endurance races on it and about 5k race miles. Those 690 motors are strong!
As it should be. I think the dual-rotor setup is too much. When I raced an EVO2, we developed a 330mm iron rotor with BrakeTech, with a Brembo P4 rotor and 15mm master cylinder. That’s all this bike needs.
The preliminary 2025 rulebook was released yesterday. It contains the Talent Cup rules also for those interested. https://americanmotorcyclist.com/wp...al-Technical-Regulations-v9-10-2024-Final.pdf
Ok newb questions. So looking at the regulations, the hard minimum for bike weight is 110kg, but the curb weight is listed as 110kg, how do you maintain that at the end of the race? Combined bike and rider is 186kg which leaves minimum rider and gear weight of 167lbs??? Am I doing that math right? So lets say your rider is 135 in gear you would need to add 13kg to the bike to get to the soft maximum and then be legal? Pretty disappointing suspension is open. Add another $2500 to the price tag.
I think you're right on the gear and rider weight per what you're stating. One could add the weight where you need it, leave fuel for the end of the race, etc. The OEM suspension is WP, and it is supposed to be supported. So, the claim is that there will be Kramer/WP support trackside. I don't think OEM WP suspension components are supposed to be like some of the garbage that comes on OEM street bikes. So, the individual could work within the Kramer/WP program/relationship or use an existing relationship with another suspension company. I'd be unsure in thinking that I would be disappointed by having options.
Thanks. The WP on the 690 is working fine but there will be value in having a brand with more data behind it at the track for valving etc.
Well, there aren't many Moto3 bikes in the US to gleen a lot of data from because of different spec tires and different aggregate in asphalt when comparing global locations, so the unique design of this single make Moto3 styled design is going to have in house data at the track that is supposed to be supported at the events by Kramer.
