I haven't ever held or fired one of those SAO Corsas, but I sent my old 92 off to Langdon Tactical a couple years ago, and it's like a completely new firearm. It's so nice that I followed up by purchasing one of their Elite RDO models.
If you ever do get a 92, send it to them for their full work up, or just buy one of their Elites.

I have had a busy year trying out new disciplines, haven't posted much in here. Started out trying some precision 22LR stuff and acquired a CZ 457 Varmint MTR and added a few things to it including a Jard trigger along an ARCA rail and a decent optic. Then got back into doing some trap shooting (hadn't done that in 40 years) and picked up a Browning BT-99. Then the club I joined put in 5-stand so I picked up a nice lightly used Caesar Guerini Summit Sporting and have been putting a bunch of rounds downrange at some clay's with both of those.

Got the itch for a new handgun a couple of weeks ago as I had a Trijicon RMR sitting on the shelf with no host so I sold a Kimber LW I was never fond of and picked up one of the new Springfield Operator AOS models. I've been enjoying it quite a bit burning through some old ammo I had on hand and then working up some loads for it. I think I put about 700 rounds downrange the first 10 days I had it.

Maaaaaan if I hadn’t already spent so much money this week on gun stuff…
Rooftop with Radian builders sets for $900
Operation Parts has a Centurion mk12 ss barrel for $360
Shooters Choice had a sweet flektarn furniture set for $100
Geissele & Larue triggers on great sales at half a dozen places
Seeing deals on Trijicon, Leupold, Vortex, and Steiner LPVOs everywhere
Trim out remaining components as you see fit…

I hear you, I just got new "storage" for my toys in on Wednesday. Made the mistake of stopping by my LGS this morning just to pick up some 45 seeds for reloading and they had an in store only special on Federal small pistol primers for $39/1000!! So I left with 10K of those as well...

I normally don’t venture out on Black Friday but I was coming back from a job this morning just after Academy opened. I picked up a door buster deal on a Walther P22 because it’s kind of hard to resist a functioning $200 gun.

Finally picked up my FN510 today, plus a couple other items.

    Color me impressed.

The FN510 with Holosun 407CX2 for $750 may be the surprise purchase of the year for me.

Trigger is actually VERY nice with a nice wall, crisp break and fuckin' SHORT reset. No "Boing" like the one that I dry fired at my local shop...so this one wasn't built on a monday after a binge weekend or something.
Ambi mag release, great grip texture.

And my local gun shop wanted $800 for the gun sans optic.

Hell yea dude. I'm really interested in hearing your impressions after some time on the range with both gun and optic. I want a 10mm and I've been eyeballing the 407 as a good option to get optics on more of my pistols (Trijicons and Aimpoints on everything is more costly than my bank account allows lol). Especially interested in the 407 report.

I can’t afford to feed a 10mm so no help there but I do know a thing or two about reasonably priced optics.

If I break my hammer while building a fence I know an RMR could finish the job and still hold zero but I’ll go buy another hammer. There is no doubt they are the gold standard of toughness and reliability but in my experience the Holosuns are plenty tough.

Between my wife and I there are 9 Holosuns in the safe, we have had zero problems. I have a 507K that was my only carry gun for a good 3 yeas on a 365Xl and I carry every single day. I switched to appendix with it and bounced it off of every door frame there was until I finally realized I was a little thicker than I thought with a pistol up front. My wife carries a 407K most days and it sees some off body carry as well as bouncing around in the console when she’s driving. I have a couple 407C’s and a 507 Comp that see some carry duty plus 3 or 4 matches a month. There’s more but I think I’ve made my point that they get used and like I said zero issues.

If you like the 407 reticle the price is hard to beat. If you want more options that a 507 offers they’re still less than half an RMR. Battery life across the board is stupid good and you don’t have to remove and re zero to change a battery. If you read this far I’m sure you figured out I’m a fan.

Now is a good time: https://fnamerica.wpenginepowered.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/TC_Season_Savings_Rebate.pdf

As long as the 407 holds zero, I'll have no issues with it. Holding zero and not having to take the optic off to change batteries are my two biggest requirements from a dot.

Right on. I’ve always been pretty adamant about having 1 bombproof setup for each platform but like I said, can’t really afford to build every gun that way lol. I’ve got a couple CZs now and that Beretta on the way, all of which still need optics. And at the end of the day, it’s just gotta survive range trips and hold zero. Not gonna be what I trust my life to (although from what I’ve seen, they do appear to be fine for that in most cases as well). Glad to hear your feedback, especially from you two, since I know both of you actually put quite a few rounds downrange and aren’t telling me how great your safe queen performs.

I have a lane at my indoor range at 1430 today.....Hold please...feedback pending.

Update: I also have a Sig Sauer P320 XTen. I may bring a third box of 10mm along and shoot both back to back to compare...cause that one hasn't barked in a bit.

If you go back a few pages, it was posted by another Beeb member. We were discussing these after I had looked at one at my local gun shop and I asked if anyone had any experience with them. This gun, with the Holosun, was $750.

My first venture with a Reflex Red Dot on a pistol is coming up. I'm not a shooter that is nearly as frequent as some of you guys, but be that as it may I'm getting a Holosun 507K GR-X2 in a couple of days. It's obviously the Green Dot (GR in the number), and hopefully will be a little better for my astigmatism issue than the Red Dot. Freedom Gorilla had them on sale for not a whole lot more than the 407K models and I wanted a 2"MOA as it's going on my carry pistol. Hopefully the Holosun brand is as good/sturdy as most say it is.

Green helps 100% I can barely see the red but green I see perfectly.

That is great news, and thanks for posting that. The gun came with a Crimson Trace 1500 on it from Springfield (just got that too) and I can see the Red Dot(s)...LOL. The dot kind of looks like a QR code except it's round instead of square. There's definitely a dot in all of that squiggly stuff, so it's definitely not ideal. You've given me hope that the green dot may at least make things better.....I'll have it by Tuesday if everything is running on time.

If you’re making the switch to a dot on a pistol here’s my $0.02. Your presentation or index becomes key to “finding” the dot. Look up anything by Scott Jedlinski/Modern Samurai project on YouTube. You can pretty much find his entire class. The way he teaches really makes sense for me because he’s not just regurgitating some tactical bs he can actually explain it in terms a 3rd grader can understand.

The other thing is dry fire and shoot with the sight occluded. It really helps you stay target focused and not get sucked into the dot. I put find in quotes earlier because when I made the switch I was so worried about the dot I would present and find it then track it on to target. To truly use it best you should be focused on the target and superimpose the dot over the target. Now for me the dot just appears on the target. Starting with it pretty dim is counterintuitive but it helps you look through it instead of staring at it.

Thanks for that info....I'll check out the Scott Jedlinski guy for sure. I got the gun about 10 days ago and watched probably a dozen or so videos on Youtube about how to acquire the Dot, and almost everyone was saying....focus on the target. Just as importantly was to try out some of the stances and try to find the one feels the best and allows you to get the dot consistently. There was also a lot of info on grip and presentation, and being consistent with it, starting out slow/deliberate with your draw, grip, presentation and acquiring the dot. I have been practicing every single day since I bought it for between 20 minute and a half hour. I'm certainly not "fast" yet, but the speed is improving and I'm to the point that I can usually go through the sequence and have a dot on the target 24 to 25 times out of 25. This is all being done with a small piece of blue tape on a doorknob at about 10' distance. Eventually, the muscle memory will fall into place, but right now I'm focusing on consistency vs. speed.

Well shit. There's 2 more red dots because the black friday gremlins keep chasing me. Aimpoint Acro P2 and a Holosun 407K-x2 for $640 before taxes. 20% off at SKD Tactical sitewide which brought the Acro down to $480. $5 flat rate shipping. And Blackstone has the Holosun for $180 but you get $20 your first order of $150+ when providing email and they don't charge tax out of state. $15 shipping.
