I placed 40th of 52 overall and 23rd of like 25 in Carry Optics....and I know for sure my last stage was completed with all shots in the zero zone with no time penalties....so I'm happy with the first result.

After the match, one of the other competitors had an Atlas Nyx 4.25 Commander length 2011, he let me put 10 rounds through it. HOLY SHIT!!!!! That firearm is AMAZING!!!!

    Guns are cool.

Did my first night match last night (didn't get home until 0430), a two gun event. There were two divisions, white light and NVGs, I was in the former. We had targets out to 200 meters, a 360-degree shoot house along with lots of running and gunning. I'd spent maybe an hour's worth of time shooting at night here in the backyard and at the local gun club. Turns out the weapon mounted light on the rifle wasn't powerful enough to see out to 200, so dropped some serious points there and finished mid-pack overall and 10th in my division. Won a better weapon light, so that problem's been solved for next year.

    Moon's out; goons out.

Anyone else ever used or tried one of these pistol optics?

The Atlas Nyx I tried today had one on it...the glass was pretty damned awesome. It's similar in design to the SRO and half the cost.

Hell yea. Love seeing other guys on here competing and running events.

Finished 30 out of 46 this past weekend, myself. Think I finally decided to switch to 2 gun for the competitions at this place. I'm just at too much of a disadvantage with half or less the mag capacity of everyone around me. I'll still run all 3 at the place I complete in KY as they're not nearly as shotgun heavy and half the dudes there run shotties more similar to mine. And go figure I always place waaaaay better there. Not in any danger of winning but still much better. But I'm still happy with my performance. Given that I botched a couple easy things in the early stages and it was the heaviest shotgun run yet, I'll take 30 out of 46 on one of my very "meh" performances. Doesn't seem that long ago that 30th would have been a good day for me lol.

I'll try to get the footage uploaded to youtube this week and I'll post 1 or 2 of the stages here.

As promised, some footage from this past weekend's 3 gun.

Those little green thrumes are a mother! lol And so is height over bore.

So talk about kicking myself. I put a new rail on the shotgun and didn't set it all the way in place before tightening the set screws. Which meant the barrel had about 1/8" of room to wiggle/reciprocate. Explains why I was suddenly missing steel from 7 fucking yards away. Tightened it up after the stage and lo and behold I could hit targets again on the following stages. Jeep is always fun when it's used.

Pistol work on knock downs out to 30ish yards. Actually quite pleased with how I handled these.

So this was fun. Had to flip boxes over on top of the staging rack to determine what color targets to shoot next (painted rocks underneath). Red = rifle, blue = shogun, white = pistol. I clearly didn't do a sufficient job noting the locations of each as you see me constantly hunting for targets. Still a lot of fun though. And I LOVE having multiple targets lined right next to each other. Makes for a fun little quick burndown :D

I'm kinda trying different events to see what they're all about and what I can learn from them. So far...the IDPA match was my favorite..the indoor matches were fun and I'll keep doing them, but the Thurmont IDPA match was very well run and I had such a great time.

    Gotta mind that holdover.

I traded an old Mosin and a ton of ammo for a pair of JK Armament shotgun silencers. On the CZ, they're hearing safe using Winchester AA target loads. Will find out later how they are with slugs. OO &etc.

To mount, you use an adaptor that fits in place of the stock choke and then it screws onto that. The end cap acts as a choke, so you can easily swap that out.

As you can see, they're mission configurable, so if shooting by myself, I can use all the baffles on one to really quiet things down. Having grown up shooting heavy ass German over/unders, the added weight doesn't bother me at all. One thing's for sure, they do generate a LOT of smoke.

I have the same can. Fit is well and like you said I don’t notice the weight at all. I would’ve like more volume. I’m going to take a cheap sg and make an integrally suppressed barrel and if its a success move that design to a more deserving host.

I agree a 100%. You need to get out there and see what you like. My favorite is probably 2G but I’ll shoot more pistol matches these days because my movement has taken such a hit. Thurmont used to have really good USPSA matches and 2G and I’d assume they still do.

    30% off with code "stuffing"

Somebody buy this, shop the BF sales coming up, and grab a Criterion barrel, Geissele SSA-E trigger and buffer kit, quality BCG (LMT, BCM, Sionics, Daniel Defense, etc.), and your choice of furniture and muzzle device. You could have one seriously sick rifle for under $2K. I need to live vicariously through someone.

Guntry in Owings Mills just started a Pistol Caliber Shooting League. Tonight was their first event. $33 to enter. Next one is Dec 19th and I'm already signed up. I have an Aero Precision EPC9 I built a while back that hasn't had a lot of action...well, that's gonna change. There were like 15ish shooters there tonight. Match started at 5pm. We had a fantastic time!

They said that depending on how this works out, they may look at indoor 2G in another part of their facility where they have more space and can open things up more.

That floor looks like it’s gunning for an ACL, which, is awesome. Shoot fast, but not too fast. :D

Went shooting proper shooting with it this evening. Kinda cool hearing the clays crack on farther shots.

  19. I’m not falling for the Black Friday sale trick again. F ing optics planet swindled me during their Black Friday in summer event. I was totally taken advantage of and somehow they were able to con me into adding items to my cart and checking out. Then for some reason I’d go back the next day and look and do it again. Jedi mind trick bs.
I need a few more hot rod bits for my REM 700, may try to sell the Magpul chassis and find one that fits me a tad better. I can modify the one I have but that’s design, machine and material cost (between alum and carbon). I just don’t have the time.

Must be just Radian stuff. I added an LMT to my cart but said no good.
