    Truly a classic, but must prescribe thick-cut bacon and real (not hothouse) tomatoes, and buttermilk bread.

    There are other fabulosa sandwiches --
    *Carnitas Torta with grilled/melted mexican cheese on Telera;
    *Italian (salami, hot copa, parma ham, provolone, lettuce, tomato, pepperoncini, red wine vinegar and olive oil on hard sourdough roll);
    *Spanish (jamon serrano, spanish chorizo, tomato-rubbed soft sweet roll)
    *Cuban ...

    Hey -- I see a trend here.

    I also make a killer tuna salad sandwich (using high quality tuna like As Do Mar from Portugal -- it makes American canned tuna seem like a distant relative) that has proven highly desirable to my mates when at the track. Lots of diced onions, celery and (homemade) picked to add crunch.

    OK, f@ck whoever started this thread. I'm hungry.

    Great meal whenever, but especially when your hot or to tired to eat. Goes down easy & filling, but light. Toasted white bread with home made mayo - pure nomage. Screw it - I'm going home to make one NOW !

    You know some tracks don't allow you to bring your own sandwiches in right? You need to check with Mongo on a case by case basis.
