I will field a team for Summit for 2013, I was going to field a team for this year at Summit, even ordered all the parts, then the schedule came out.
I know it doesn't mean a whole lot, but I'll be there in the trophy class if you bring it back to summit.
I’m sitting here sorta depressed, then it hit me…normally I am preparing for the Summit endurance round. 1st Time not running it since my team mate told me he needed me to field my bike to run the Endurance Race back in 2007. I really do Miss it at Summit Point, and was getting emails from people a few weeks ago asking if I needed help again this year I really miss seeing the AMA guys practicing during the Summit and VIR rounds. Well here is to Summit and VIR returning next year to the Endurance series. Let us know what we can do/brain storm/help generate more teams to enter.
WOW a guy quits racing for 20 years and WERA only has a 4 round endurance series.....next thing you will tell me is NO 24 HOUR events.....well I am posting under my sons account....hope that is OK.....we had an endurance team in the early 90's called DAK RACING.....lots of fun and we got to run with some fast guys.....24 hours at Nelson is a magical experience....even better if you win it see ya Radical Rod AKA the BIG DAK by my team....lets see if I can remember most of my riders names...Steve Heilman, Scott Sefarian (died in a MC accident), Tommy Wilson, Dean Hayes, Ralph Johnson (a Nelson 24 hour specialist), Woody Detherage (also a Nelson 24 hr specialist).....I am getting old so if I didn't list your name blame it on my CRS.....RR.
Holy shit, the DAKsters are still alive Gotta get you and JU together and tell stories of stupid pranks.... I seem to remember stickers and something about flattened tires at a restaurant.
I have nothing to add other than I want to do some Endurance racing. I am just not sure which would be the best way to go about it...setting up one of my bikes for Endurance racing and getting some people to join me, or offering to ride with anybody who needs a rider every time and hope something comes up (of course I would pay my share of costs). With my work schedule, I can't guarantee that I will be home for every Endurance round. Which is why im leaning towards the second option.
I think we should limit it to two rounds, both in Nashville (faith that the speedway will be fired up for club racing by Christmas). Otherwise I'm not coming out to play anymore.
I keep wanting to field/run a team in the series as opposed to regional stuff - and I know it's a National Series, but the cost of going out west always detracts me for some reason.
