Wife turn the big 40 in late January. Thought about surprising her with a quick trip to Vegas. Neither of us have been. Probably some where around 4 nights or so. One thing I thought about was surprising her and making a day of the grand canyon. I want to rent an exotic car and drive, but for same price could do a helicopter ride, but I am willing bet neither one of us would be super keen on riding in A helicopter. She would only think we would end up like kobe... So, where should we stay, see, eat and do? Would like to make a night with a great restaurant,so I know I'll need to plan it early for reservations.
Take her to morimoto at the mgm and get the hibachi grill. The Beatles show. The rat pack show. Cirque shows are amazing as well. Fremont street in downtown is a scene. You can’t leave Vegas without getting a Fat Tuesday. Be. Prepared. To. Spend. Money.
I like staying at the Linq. Its pretty central and the rooms are nice and usually reasonable. The big ass ferris wheel is right behind it. Craps table at casino Roylae is usually pretty cheap...$5 or $10. Take the double decker to fremont. Ooohh..late January when? You dont want to be there around Jan 17-20th as World of Concrete is going on. Evrything will be higher and sold out. That is a HUGE show at the convention center. Along with renting a car to drive around you could look into driving an exotic on at the race track, or see if the nascar experience is still there (oval track). Grand canyon, dam tour, shows, cirq du frenchie, etc...lots to do. Also if you have never joined the Caesars club or MGM, etc join online and look for room deals. Sometimes they have really good room deals at Caesars, Bellagio, Venetian, etc....the high dollar places when you join.
Would be like last weekend of January. But even then it can wait a to really when ever. If need to. I don't want to be out there during the convention.
I was in LV in October, and will return the first week of February for a conference. For both trips, I received a great rate for the Palazzo At The Venetian. I booked it via Priceline, along with a rental car. Parking is free at The Palazzo. My room: The view: Mind you: I received a "complimentary" upgrade by doing the $20 trick. More on this: https://lasvegasthenandnow.com/what-is-the-20-trick-and-is-it-worth-trying/ I drove to The Grand Canyon. It is a long drive. I stopped at Hoover Dam on the way there, and spent the night in Williams. Spent a few hours at the GC the following morning, then drove back to LAS for my return flight that night. It is a lot of driving. There is good food off the Strip, at much more reasonable prices. That justified the rental car cost. Don't forget downtown LV. More affordable places to eat, and lots to do too. The Linq? Ha! Even I won't stay there, and I am a cheap bastard.
there's almost always a "a convention, or 3 there". You just dont want to come to town for WoC, SEMA, CES, NAB or G2E...those shows bring 80,000- 100,000+ people. Meh. Aria >>>>Cosmo
You don't have to go to south rim. Rent a car and go to Skywalk. You can also spend night there at one of the cowboy ranches.
January in LV is nothing but conventions. It used to be nice that the main convention of my industry (PPAI) would be the same week as the AVN awards...........good times
Rent a jeep and get the heck out of vegas. Tons of cool stuff to see and explore not very far out of town.
Red rock park is fucking cool. I use to climb big walls there. The main park area has a loop road that takes you through some very scenic areas.
