I wonder if he actually got the axe, if this is a qualifying event for Amy to take his job, or if they're actually being sincere that there were logistical issues.

I hope it's the latter. He sucked in Qatar but was significantly better in Argentina. Based on that upward trajectory, he'd be great given a few more races.

 

One thing Mamola did do was finish higher in the championship than all the riders he was runner up to.

 

I love that Davide Brivio has absolutely no poker face. When Amy asked him about the MarcVDS deal in FP1 this dude was practically cracking up while trying to deny it. Then she mentioned having Morbidelli riding a Suzuki and he got even giddier. I love it!

 

The track is so shitty it's a disgrace.

 

Certainly looks like it. Probably had to shift it to the side like that in order to clear the suspension bits....

Well, Cagiva was on pirellis when mamola was there. Bad bike on (then) shit tires.

Pretty much. When Yamaha started to help Cagiva fix their bike it got real good.

He was going to do a school at Laguna a couple of years ago and had to cancel because of Visa issues. I would assume it's the same Visa issues this time.

Very cool that Mamola is getting some recognition even though he had not won a 500 Championship. Great to hear his thoughts on Nick as well. I'm not crying...you're crying.
