J Wood and Company is helping with an auction at Barber next week. Lurking in the corner of one pic...... http://www.jwoodandcompany.com/barber_2021/barber_2021_info.html
I've always wanted one of Keiths bikes. Tried to find the last one that Kurt and Michael rode that got sold to another endurance team then turned into a street bike but lost track of it after one more sale
I remember that bike, trailer, those guys, and their shirts. I'm drawing a blank on the race and track, with the lights mounted and the banking in the background, though. Sure John or someone will come along and remind me, eventually.
Track is easy, Nelson or Willow for a 24. Actually the wall behind them gives it away, Willow Springs for sure.
Looks like the machine **At the Auction** 91 GSXR, PM Wheels, Unbraced swingarm, Yosh heat shields and carb covers. Willow Springs WERA /FUSA 1991 @riderfiles
Yeap. A few GSXR 750s came down from Canada in ‘85 but JU still Ran the Moriwaki and won on it. I really can’t remember what GS motor they ran, might have even run a worked 1000.
Jeez, the Perron leathers on the one dude and the Fox gloves and boots on the others. Damn, that’s a time warp. What ever happened to Patty over at Perron?
dont let the lights fool you, it was a day race. i took the pic at texas world speedway. it was either 83 or 84 i dont remember which, it was a 4/6 hr. i remembered it rained hard. they had to stop the race, i think they even had to reroute the course because of flooded areas
That is a great picture. If I remember that race, it rained buckets for a bunch of it. We were racing a Yamaha 500 single and one of the few bikes to pass us was the Hammer bike, that sounded like it was only running on 3 cylinders. In the background of this picture you can see balding guy with the beard. I think that is Pat Lineen and he and Wayne Canale were doing the endurance on a TZ750. I don't think they finished.
