I caught a small 1lb er ish today trolling. Phone was in the car charging, may head out tomorrow as well and I’ll get pics.
That's when I bought mine when I was traveling more. I'd take it in the road and work on it in my hotel rooms. There's a nice track (or was) outside of Greenville (closer to Seneca) and one in Huntsville that I used to go play for an hour or two when I was in these areas. The Kawasaki shop near talladega had a nice track at one point but pretty sure it's long gone.
Whelp, jumping in. I was looking at the Stampede, but the city was having an online bit in conjunction with iHeart Radio, and I won an Arrma Fury BLX for $170, set up comes with: 1/10 scale RTR Fury Short Course Truck with Red Body and 2.4GHz Radio, ESC, Steering Servo, 3600KV Brushless Motor, Tires, Wheels, Foam Inserts, Decals, Instruction Manual, Battery and Charger. The kids will be thrilled to open this Christmas morning... gonna be pissed having to wait their turn to drive it.
60mph...don't crash it for 'em. It won't take 2 seconds for it to go down the street and introduce itself to a mailbox post. Trust me when I say, take it far away from ALL obstacles...at least until y'all get the hang of it.
www.rc-motorradshop.de ran across it yesterday after seeing one of their races. but the desmoseidici is sold out.
Need the optional gearing and the 3S (11.1V 5000mAh LiPo) battery for 60MPH, out of the box it has a 8.4V 4600mAh NiMH battery. So 30+MPH to start, I will probably look in to what I can do to regulate the speed down even lower for the kids. I decided to bid on this car though because apparently its known to be very tough, able to take a beating and it 'crashes well' according to reviews. we will see if it can be used in the yard at all, maybe some bigger tires, see if there is a 4wd conversion kit. My birthday is in Feb, so I will probably look in to the gearing and 3S battery then.
I did the racing thing in the early 90's. Fancied myself an underdog, so ran a really cheap car (fx10) and modded it up pretty heavy to try to keep up with the more expensive cars (rc10 and jkrx2 or something like that...mine was plastic, theirs were CF and aluminum). The place had a clay oval and also a much larger carpet oval. I was more competitive on the clay, but really enjoyed the grip of the carpet better. In the summer they would run a road course in the back parking lot too. Lots o fun, but really easy to get caught up in "needing" more expensive upgrades. Ended up losing all of my stuff when some scumbag broke into my car and stole all of my stuff. Decided not to bother replacing it. (didnt have any insurance other than minimum liability back then) Lost a really rare and expensive trumpet (mt Vernon Bach Stradivarius!) in that deal too. It was a bad day!
You should be able to turn down the throttle on the transmitter with the trim controls if the transmitter has them.
Right when this thread popped up, getting one of these had been on my mind. Swung by a local Hobbie shop who had the Team Associated Rally Car on sale for $220 with a remote and battery. Also picked up a LiPo and a good charger while I was at it. I was somewhat disappointed with it, until I put the LiPo in. Holy shit this thing is a blast. I haven't had a RC car since I was a kid and these are on a whole different level. Easily pushing 45-50mph down my street if not more. Edit...4wd and brushless motor. A comparable Traxxas set up would have been about $440
I’m an old school RC-10 guy myself. I raced a B2 for years and still have it to this day. Lots of fun!
