Since you're coming all that way, and it's the GNF, and your first time at Barber..... might as well go all-in and sign up with a buddy for the endurance (rain or not)

No reason to worry about things you can't control like whether it will rains or not. But you should have your options in line and ready should the need arise. Planning wisely will help you go fast and forget about the other shit.

We don't declare anything. No need for it as none of our rules change from wet to dry.

Sadly there are way too many racers who wouldn't be able to do that and would have to buy a $500 one with full wiring and a special switch because that's what everyone told them to do.... :D

drill a 1" hole in the tail section, and they snap in and are bright.

    This!

My first rain race ever was with Moto America @ Road Atlanta, and I was scared shitless.

A few fast guys told me the following, and it led to a top 15 finish in a solid downpour....

    Soften the suspension
    • Do 95% of my breaking while I was up and down... you can trail brake, but it feels scary as hell
    • Get on the gas smoothly, and you'll be surprised how much grip you can throw down
    • Make sure your pressures are really spot on from your tire guy
    • Be ready for bike movement... it's normal

I ended up loving rain races after that, but I had ZERO experience before that day.

We escaped the rain for a solid morning practice! Just a few spritzes and thats it. What an amazing track and complex! Spent some time in the museum also. So amazing. Tomorrow is another story.
