Name the shitiest sy fy movie

Event Horizon is one of my all time favorites ans is widely regarded as a masterpiece,

 

Anything featured on Mystery Science Theater 3000, but hilarious at the same time.

 

I thought Event Horizon's premise was, uh, killer, but was disappointed with the, er, execution. Saw it in the theatre - might have to see it again...

PS - Cool World was another huge disappointment - I was an amateur cartoonist at the time (Cold War USAF was a goldmine for material) - was hoping, from the trailer, for some lowbrow Fantasia or something otherwise trippy and wow.

 

I enjoyed Independence Day. For a moment, I thought that perhaps I have questionable taste. Then I realized who made this post.

 

There is one about Homesexual African Americans from Outerspace. I had to PC up the movie title as I don't need a BBS vacation

 

Rubber (story about a killer tire)

The Ice Pirates (cheesey and funny, but horrible at the same time)

 

I guess the fundamental problem with this thread is that cheezy 80's scifi is both shitty and amazing at the same time.

 

Man, A whole crap load of you listed some great movies as the worst. Must be a bunch of Fellini film watching, caviar spreading, New Yorker subscription having fluffers in here.

Buckaroo Banzai- Awesome
Dune - Both of them are effing sweet
Moonfall - so bad it comes back around and becomes good
Prometheus - Pretty freaking good
Event Horizon - great space bloodbath
Black Hole - Now i know your crazy...that was a great movie...needs a good JJ Abrams reboot
Ice Pirates - Again A classic beyond reproach

 

I have great memories of my thirty something sister crying when one of the robots "died" when we watched it on TV one Christmas, my brother and I still make fun of her over that.

Reality of the past few years has been a pretty shitty sci-fi-drama.

 

I am going with Iron Sky.
Spoiler alert, but it has Hitler at a secret base in Antarctica with dinosaurs. It is awesome in itsshittiness. I highly recommend watching it.

I loved this movie as a kid...Like a budget Star Wars/Star Trek movie. Still loved it..

 

Some of us have seen some crap from back in the day. This was once voted the worse movie ever made.
