Too lazy to find the right thread to put this in and I think we need a thread on what's going on. Pedrosa now open to racing the KTM in 2021 if it helps the brand (KTM). Rins back with Suzuki for '21 and '22. Rossi does not think he's the GOAT, just one of the greats. Anyone got anything else to add? All the above over at Crash.net
Nothing to add to line up, but since now Germany has cancelled all public events until August we get to start the process of trying to get a refund for our Sachsenring MotoGP trip. Dave, nuke this if not proper for thread topic.
That's pretty awesome on Pedrosa, would be cool if he even hit an event this year, if we have any races this year. Hard to believe Rossi said that?
I've heard Rossi say that before. ...or at least claim he was plenty satisfied by being 'one-of-the-greats'
Funny, as you were posting this I was looking for the right thread to post a similar question. Due to 2020 circumstances, does Rossi retain his seat for 2021? (Has been answered in the other thread)
Give MM93 a career that spans the technological changes that have occurred in MotoGP from 1999 to now, then maybe he can be in that conversation. He's a GREAT rider....no doubt. But, make him adapt to the platform he's asked to race...2-stroke, 4-stroke, switching manufacturers and winning, 990, 800, 1000cc's. Even of MM93 had won on the 800 and 1000cc's I'd give him more of a place in History. Not saying he couldn't have done it. Timing wasn't on his side to be in that place in MotoGP history at the time, Rossi was. Much like Freddie Spencer. He didn't win 5+ World titles...Spencer won 3, but in one year he won 250 and 500. Not too many I am aware of that can say that. Pretty impressive and makes him an All-Timer in my opinion. Of the Golden Age of American racers, I think it's between Rainey and Lawson as to who the actual greatest rider was. Who knows how many titles Rainey would have one if not for his unfortunate injury. MM93 will have his place in racing history, no doubt. His number of titles accumulated will guarantee that. But other than his number of titles, that's really all I can say. Nothing else to me stands out as something remarkable about his time in racing.
