They have a couple of dozen riders from moto3 to MotoGP to cheer for. They cheered louder for Marc than the championship leader.
I was asking myself the same thing as I watched. It seems to be pretty common lately that many don't even try to keep going.

I said that. But I didn't predict MM busting himself up, taking 3 years to heal, then coming back thru the pack like a bull in a china shop. Anyway, MotoGP is a freaking awesome spectacle and I'm glad to see the record numbers
