I know one of the Petronas boys had a 2016 chassis for one of the races, so it may even be older than last year's model.

They cut your forearm open and remove tissue from under the muscle. Not really a minor surgery and after it heals he will be pain free.

 

Dont google "arm pump surgery" if you are squemish.
