Smoking lap by AI. He wants it this weekend. Hope he wins. Also Pirro 3rd. Going to be a good weekend.
Crazy Joe on top of FP2, the boy wants to make a statement this weekend. I think he might actually do it. He finished second in the race last year. Wouldn't be surprised if he didn't win this time.

Agreed, but anger can be a very focus-inducing emotion at times. Should make for an interesting weekend for sure.
He needs to not get injured. Doesn't matter if he finishes or not. Contract already done. He's fast here and wants to make a statement. AI for the win
He's already done that by crashing out of 5 of the last 7 races he's been in, including taking out his own teammate for a double podium finish. I think he's out of middle fingers to give to the factory.
True. Bringing one back in the same shape it left the grid would be a nice gesture to his mechanics so they would have less work the following race.
I know we're only talking about practice, but I can't imagine that it looks good to management that the rider that got booted from the team is 1.2 seconds faster and 12 places higher than the guy that got the contract. Yikes...
So wait....then you WOULD be surprised if he DID win if I'm reading you correctly (double negatives). If so then I agree with you.
Know what else doesn't look good. Crashing out of 3 of the first 5 races. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrea_Iannone#Races_by_year
Just seen Neil Morrison post that it came from a crash in '05. Had similar issues at Mugello in '13. That's got to be a PITA trying to wrestle the bike around. I know when I've had the Frankenstein neck it hurts to do normal things much less try to race a GP bike.
Interesting enough, Ducati seemed to want AI instead of Dovi beside Lorenzo. AI didn't like the contract details.
