Harbor Freight Jack Stands Recalled for Risk of Collapsing

I bought some because of a thread on GarageJournal stating they were the same as another reputable brand, just with a Pittsburgh sticker. The ones I do have, though, aren't part of this recall.

 

They just announced a recall on the jack stands that replaced the previously recalled jack stands

You can never tell sometimes even with reputable brands. Within the same SKU they might suddenly change to a new subcontractor who uses inferior materials. Better to assume anything can fail from any brand and make sure you have a backup method.
