It would be cool for a racer work out a deal where they sell tickets (like mentioned previously), but work out a deal with the printer for an "event" shirt. Sell tickets to get a race shirt with the venue / dates on them. Little more personalized, no risk of excess stock. Might cut margins a bit though, depending on the deal you can get worked out.
Yeah, this was the best shirt being sold in the LRRS paddock! I tried to buy the team shirt when they went AMA racing but I missed out on those.
Sorry Johnny, I got the win and you'll agree. I have the Stargel Yamaha Hawaiian shirt. I need some two of his chick v necks but he's been out of them for year.
I tried to get one of those but he was just out of them. There was a great shirt from Team Gonzo that was around during the Bryar Motorsports Park era. It had a drawing of some guy wearing just a t shirt riding a naked chick like a motorcycle, pulling on her pigtails to steer. Over 20 years later, Bruce showed up at the track to say goodbye to everyone before he died from cancer. He was wearing one of those Team Gonzo t shirts, and I'm asking myself if it would be in really bad taste to request that he leave it to me. I didn't say anything and he passed away two weeks later. Shortly after that his widow came to the track. She looked around and finally found me. She gave me his flags (He was a cornerworker in addition to being a sidecar racer.) and a sleeping gnome. She said he was always taking naps so that gnome was appropriate. I figured that since she was bringing this stuff to me it might have been a good time to ask about that shirt. She looked for it but never found it.
Marijuana Industry Company Sponsoring MotoAmerica Superbike Racer Johnny Rock Page http://www.roadracingworld.com/news...otoamerica-superbike-racer-johnny-rock-page-/
whoa.. interesting.. surprised that it would even be allowed.. probably a minor contribution judging by the very small sticker lol..
HMMMM. Interesting that this quote made the release. "We are ecstatic that Johnny Rock Page and MotoAmerica are progressive in their views towards marijuana," said Colby Ayres, co-founder and marketing director of Hemp American Media Group." I know MotoAmerica is cali-based, but I don't know of any other sporting org that's publicly announced that they are OK with marijuana sponsors. Seems odd when Tobacco and Alcohol sponsorships are so scrutinized.
Marijuana is at least pitched as having medical benefits, so no different than a viagra sponsor in that respect. But the lack of federal legality for it does make me surprised that they are okay with this.
Something tells me this won't last. I don't think its the kind of message Rainey wants to be identified with a family oriented series like MA.
Yeah it'll be interesting to see the reaction once they hear about it. No way in hell he talked to them first.
Exactly. I expect a retraction within the week. Bingo. The series is all about families, and they do a great job promoting infield events for children of all ages. I can't imagine they would align with that statement.
I though the ban was at the federal level, i.e. from the FDA (and similar agencies in other countries for global series, e.g., F1, WSBK, MotoGP, etc.) Not sure if there is a ban on mj advertising as they probably assumed no one would be dumb enough to advertise something illegal
From Wiki... Restrictions on cigarette companies became even tighter in 2010 with the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act. The act prohibits tobacco companies from sponsoring sports, music, and other cultural events and also prevents the display of their logos or products on T-shirts, hats, or other apparel.[9]
