I didn't fully understand the magnitude of the situation and how bad it fucked me up until I was an adult. My situation was nearly identical to this one, except that I am a female. For some reason that changes things?

Seriously? Not only is an eight year old not even close to emotionally mature enough to make a decision to allow a fifteen year old to touch him in inappropriate places, he's no where near emotionally mature enough to deal with the aftermath. A fifteen year old isn't even emotionally mature enough to have a consensual sexual relationship with another fifteen year old. Yes, the latter happens more frequently than the former, but so does the fallout from the failed relationship.

This was two males, your's was a male and female.
It all comes down to how you feel about it.
Like anything else, different people have different reactions to anything in life.

A 15 yr old should know right from wrong. An 8 yr old does not.
