just got mandatory evac alert... storm 400 miles away.
jax beach... yeap. The mayornaises has declared an emergency... so yay Im off til Thurs.
That is quite the wind field.
Moving ( figure of speech for sure ) at 1 mph.....REALLY ?
On the bright side it's ONLY a Cat 4 now. Daaaaaammn !!
On another bright note for anyone NOT underneath it right now, the longer it sits still churning up the water underneath it, the more the colder water down deep will mix with the warmer surface waters. This will also serve to weaken it.
Not much consolation for those poor bastards in the Bahamas right now.
I just went to the Abacos two weeks ago. Goodbye Abacos. I'll see you in five years or so.
little know trick of sandbagging your roof... you know, to keep it from blowing off.. FL never disappoints.
I'm not sure which is more dumberer < : ) ...... sand bags to hold roof down, or that ladder he's using!!!
Or, perhaps a prank set up by person taking pic? Can't be that stoopid!!
WAIT!! Nevermind.... forgot the "ladder".
Yea, my home is there. What are the odds, the strongest storm maybe ever to make landfall, and it goes directly over my house...
Sucks. I was diving around there a couple months ago. Hope it recovers and your house is safe.
Bahamas got nailed this time.
Bad news, folks.... Reports indicate that Alabama has been blown off the map and Mississippi has been flipped over where Alabama once was.
On the bright side, no more obnoxious Rooooooooll Tide or War Eagle fans.
That shit is sitting out there like Metalhead trying to decide if he is going to race Road Atlanta.
Inherently self-limiting aspect of hurricanes...
