Discussion like this is what will help fix things. I'm open minded on most things. Boys having periods? No, I'm not. SERIOUS corruption by those in the highest levels of our gov't? Yeah, I'm all ears. The Patriot Act, enabled by the right, is the precursor to making such an abuse even possible. However, when we devolve into name calling, which is a nasty and real issue here in the dungeon, nothing will change. I also agree with you, we're on a road to destruction. There are a multitude of reasons. No "one reason" stands alone and no one reason can be fixed that will fix it all. However, when we face such massive corruption at such a high level, it will only hasten our fall. I can't fathom such a land of wealth as the US going down the spiral of socialism. We are the world's bread basket. Socialism and eventually communism, in the US will hurt the entire world.

I don't wear tin foil hats. I don't listen to right wing nutjobs like Alex Jones. I have researched this because it's really really important. Our constitutional republic is at stake.
These people, and by people I mean upper level operatives in the FBI, CIA and DOJ conspired to nullify the results of a presidential election. The effort is ongoing.
You can't possibly tell me you are in anyway shape or form OK with this. I don't care how badly you despise Trump, you CAN NOT be OK with a deep state faction of the government (unelected at that) taking matters into their own hands and denying the will of the people that elected this man.
They spied on him and members of his staff leading up to and after the election in an effort to prevent him from being elected. When he wasn't stopped and ultimately won, they switched their efforts into falsely accusing him of this Russia bullshit to damage him enough to either face impeachment or at least not be re-elected.
It is astonishing that anyone would be remotely OK with any of this.
The proof is right under your nose. The press is dead. Period. With the proven info that's already been uncovered, this story should be covered non-stop. Yet....crickets.
This isn't politicians lie. This isn't politicians pay favors for personal gain. That shit is par for the course typical shit. It shouldn't happen either, but has been going on forever. This is the biggest scandal in this country's history. If the players that enacted it get away with it, the USA is done.

So what does being a conservative have to do with the plastics issue, would Trump enable a cleanup?

If you want to stop the plastic menace then go over to China or any of the scores of poor countries where everything still gets thrown into the rivers and ends up in the ocean. We stopped all that shit in the '60s and '70s.

    Well, and there's this.
    What have you antagonists?
It has always astonished me at how ignorant everyone is in respects to the environment is a global issue and not just a U.S. issue. That said, I'm all for being responsible to the point my GF even argues whether stuff belongs in the blue bin, but please grant me just this simple understanding that pollution is a global issue and not just a U.S. issue.

Come on, let's not be glib about it. The stereotypical response of a hardcore conservative would be " ah, they just picked one particular small spot in the ocean that just happens to have a little garbage in it. Now they're going to want to put a limit on plastic and charge me to clean it up. Goddamn sissy ass libtards and their feel good programs. This doesn't really exist anymore than global warming. It's all made up by scientist that are funded by grants that I'm paying for!"

And I can't really see Trump being onboard since he wants to reduce the watershed program that Obama put in place.

Watershed program? Are you talking about WOTUS?

He already sign a bill to allow NOAA to fund cleaning up the oceans. It’s up to Congress to budget it.

Actually, that's the stereotypical guess at what a conservative would say.
It came from you, not a conservative here.
Again, rather than discuss the issue you deflect and blame and insult.
    And you're wrong.

What I don't get about this, is that the entire DOJ is part of the Executive Branch, and the Executive Branch is headed by who? Oh yeah, THE PRESIDENT. Usually, when a new leader comes into power, the first thing they do is fire everyone underneath that could subvert them. Why in the hell has DT not cleaned house and gotten rid of everyone even slightly suspected of malfeasance?

I wrote a response that's in line with the typical comments made about liberals by the hard core conservatives around here.

And it was satire. Discussing an issue had nothing to do with it.

    I'm curious...do you have a crown?

That's only the tip of the iceberg of what's off with what's he's saying in that video. He's definitely got facts, no question - but the conclusions he's drawing are in support of a preconceived narrative and in order to pull it off, he's filling in some very important gaps with guesses (or flat out omissions of additional facts). . .and those guesses and omissions are designed to further his already preconceived notions.

Personally, I think he's got decent facts in there, but his conclusions are, to put it kindly, lacking.

Here's a perfect example (it's a small one but easily manipulated for those that don't travel often to Europe): Cohen could have never been to Prague because there's no passport stamp. The EU is a free travel zone. You get your passport stamp where you enter and leave. Recently, I was in Austria, Hungary and France - my passport just has a stamps from Austria (and that was the country I spent the least amount of time in). Last time I went to Prague - drove through Hungary, Slovenia, Austria and then into the Czech Republic to go stay in Prague - passport was just stamped for Austria on my entry and exit of Europe. He got his facts right (no stamp) - his conclusions as to what that lack of a stamp means. . .

:stupid:, I got the very same impression from the video. I checked a couple of facts but agree there are missing links to his conclusions. He did say this was the abridged version and you could buy his book!

I wasn't pointing out missing pieces of DB's arguments, I was wondering why DT is putting up with this dog and pony show when he has the power to shut it down.

Dan has volumes of proof that the Russia collusion narrative is a hoax.
So far, Mueller has produced ZERO that it's real.
I'm gonna stick with Dan on this one.

As for the Prague argument, Cohen's lawyer Lanny Davis, who is a huge supporter of the Clintons, emphatically stated in an interview two days ago that Cohen has never ever been to Prague or any area close to Prague in his life.

The whole thing is a total scam. Period.

Thank you for coming full circle on where I am at on this subject. While I absolutely believe the existence of a soft coup and that DBs conclusions are accurate, I am beyond my level of patience with President Trump and his "4d chess" on this issue. He either releases the FISA docs or he is full of shit. I don't need tweets of people behind bars, rallies, or ineffective AG's. I need all hell fire to rain down on the guilty. I need Rosenstein fired. I need an AG with teeth. I need the FBI cleaned. The longer he waits, the more I believe he either doesn't have shit or he has been bought/blackmailed.

Enough chess. Fight the F back.

I'm with you, but I'm sure all his advisors are telling him to "let justice run it's course". You have to remember, most all of them are deep state insiders too.

Can't fault him, he's got to make his paper. . .and if he would have left me with a different impression - I would have been more than happy to give him some of mine so I could read his book. . .:D

Also, never got around to it, but your crack about Franciscans had me rolling. . .

Regardless of the intent. . .it still pointed out one of the missing pieces of his argument. . .

    Feel free.

Just recognize that there's a good possibility that "sticking with him" can lead you to become the guy who (in the same breath) states that collusion is not a crime. . .and even if it is, there's no proof; but then emphatically state that a total overhaul is needed of the alphabet agencies because they are "colluding to cover their assess" (which is now somehow illegal). . .but you have no proof of this (cause if you did - why aren't you taking that shit to court - or more importantly, making some serious bank off of this proof that A LOT of different heavy hitters would pay just a tiny bit of money for?). . .

Or this new one about how "process crimes" are not that big of a deal. . .but nobody seems to asking what are the "crimes" they are now bitching about being perpetrated against POTUS?

And my personal favorite: the investigations are a soft coup against POTUS. Now granted, a "coup" denotes illegality, but "process crimes" are no big deal, except when being used to perpetrate a "soft coup", which is totally and completely plausible. . .since one of the main purposes of the constitution is to maintain a structure where governments can peacefully transition at a minimum of every two years (or to put it another way - the constitution is just one giant mechanism to encourage and guarantee constantly changing governments - or in your language - the constitution encourages and guarantees a shit ton of legal fucking coups) . BUT. . .that shit takes too long. So they're going to wait till the midterms to have the elections, have a change in 1/2 of a branch of government, which allows them to legally investigate things they couldn't before. . .and even though that has happened. . .lets do a whole bunch of illegal shit, to get the man out of office. . .so that Mike Pence can take over for the remainder of the term. . . and somehow totally eliminate the Executive Branch of govt which POTUS appointed while they're at it.

Then of course you have the fact that POTUS's agenda was not limited in any way by the investigation. . .and that democrats had no control over the investigation(s) (and still don't till Jan). . .or that HE FUCKING WON THE ELECTION. I mean seriously, if this whole thing was so incompetent to let him win. . .and then the whole purpose was to neuter him (which seems to be working out really well). . .and somehow, you. . .ye of much research and knowledge. . .and lack of tin foil hats. . .and epic beatdowns of your libtarded friends. . .you fucking just know this whole thing is a total scam but your position is stone cold fact.

Forgive me if I respectfully decline to go down that path of stupid with you.
