So Barney Fife gets axed for imagining the squirrels have gats, and his partner who’s too stupid to not engage in contagious fire, shooting at, what exactly, gets a pass?

Both of them should get new jobs cleaning bedpans.

why he was firing his gun and her answer was to just open
fire in a crowded neighborhood herself. Neither of them
should ever hold a firearm again, never mind be a cop.

Since he resigned, he will have a clean record
He can just go to another county and be back patrolling your town

 

Years ago a cop in our town answered an alarm
call at a house along with two other cops. He walked
up on the front porch and was standing there when
the homeowner suddenly opened the door upon which
the cop put a bullet in his chest.
He resigned and was promptly hired by another department
two towns away.

Didn't see mentioned in the article that he thought he was hit. Must've got a boo boo when he was rolling around like a Delta LARPer.
I see shitty cops resign and go to work somewhere else all the time. One in particular has a habit of beating the fuck out of girlfriends, fucking the (sometimes married) dispatchers, drugs, etc. It's usually small town or county guys state has somewhat higher standards.

 

There's a movement underway to establish a national registry of law enforcement officers that shows their status and why they left a department
