The flip side is that Trump's allies will be working to bolster the economy even if it results in a short term boom and then bust after the election. That isn't any better than creating a downturn for political reasons. The economy should be allowed to grow at a sustainable pace.

 

The question is why, and does it infringe upon the rights of the voters to do so. The requirements to be president are very specific, but the requirements to be on the ballot are left up to the states. Ironically, the sponsor of the bill in Washington (iirc) made sure it specified that only the presidential candidates had to release their tax returns, BECAUSE SHE HADN'T RELEASED HERS!!!
