They played an open beachfront theater here in north FL in the summer of 1990 for free. We had a cool little indy record shop named Einstein a gogo & show stage down the street that had all kinds of interesting acts, musicians, & DJs. No booze served.
It held its own against a place called the Milk Bar that paid the bouncers in beer.

She / They had the first song with a "rap" in it to hit the charts - sometime in the early 80's.

All the punk stuff for sure +1 - however Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill is probably one of the best albums of the 90's if not all time. You don't have to like it to appreciate it and realize how good it was.

i used to have a crush on Lady Kier when i was a teen haha. Also Towa Tei's old shit is REAL dope from back then. And i had some mixtape from some 1995 rave of a DJ Ani set that was all old school breaks and i lost it and it was always one of my favorites.

    Really?

Her vocals make me want to not be able to hear them ever again... like really do not like them from the first wave to leave her hole to her ridiculously enunciated gasping for air... I really think she’s horrible, so bad that I think you’re support of it makes me think it must be a joke.

No joke. It was totally out of left field and had a big impact on the music of the time. Her voice is a bit much I agree, but it was a good album.

Ok, just making sure. I couldn’t get past her vocals. I’ll keep an open mind about it in case it ever crosses my path again

    That’s Eggs list not mine!

Actually we were discussing the bad music selections of emo chicks and or putting up with it. Then others jump in and spread their love all over enough to make George Michael blush.

Elvis was forced upon me though...my baby book says one of my first words was “hounddog” I’m sure I still know all the words unfortunately. All the womenfolk in my family went to his concerts including his last one in Indy.
