Any watch lovers here????

I hate to say this but it depends on the brand and model. Rolex, especially subs and gmts seem to be up even from a few months ago. Same seems to hold true for Tudors.

Other brands are in the toilet.

Still above my budget but it never hurts to dream and justify current sacrifice (field work).

I haven't looked at pricing on Pateks in quite awhile so I don't know.

I imagine they are gonna be in demand and sell no matter the market.

 

I went to an AD, ready to buy a 5524G, thinking worse case, I flipped.
Silent still, since Dec 2019.
I doubt I make a mark in their numbers.

 

Nothing has changed with Patek, but the 5524 isn't one of the impossible to get models. It's only slightly impossible. I have seen nice used ones on TRF for what I thought was a realistic price. The 5711 that I have been lusting after, however, remains in the totally crazy price range.

 

I put that dream away.
Even the Aquanaut is bordering on impossible.
I swear that they have nearly double in price since 2012.
But I could be misguided by faulty memory.
I was looking at the Aquanaut in the 25K range back then.

Anyone ever check out the Shinola stuff put together in Detroit?

Took my old man down there for Christmas last year and got him a new watch. Probably overpriced but it has a classy feel to it.

 

I bought one for my wife, we love the look.

I thought my first rolex was going to be the gmt Batman, then it changed to the gmt Pepsi...

Now it's a two tone datejust 41. Who knows what I'll end up with when I can actually afford one haha

Nice place, classy hipster vibe. Not really for me - they kinda sullied the "Made in Detroit" thing which was a shit show - turned me off of them.

But over all they appear to be decently built and finished - basically a high end Fossil but fairly good value for what you get.

 

With the datejust, if you'd consider it I'd look preowned. Some real bargains out there.
