I'm thinking of resuscitating my old Seiko Sportura Honda Racing edition. I haven't worn it in probably 8 years. What do you guys think ?
Nothing, it just needs a battery. I just had 5 other more recent watches so it went into retirement. Oh, and Honda stopped doing F1 lol. I just saw a NIB one just like mine on eBay listed over 1000$...
Maybe the pay is better in cycling.... https://www.sbs.com.au/cyclingcentral/article/2020/08/17/alaphilippe-sports-168000-watch-during-race
How are watch values nowadays in the post-COVID world? I'm thinking about unloading some, but not at a loss.
They didn't seem to dip. I think there is a little more dealer availability on some of the hard to find new watches, but not much different. I know there are a few of us who'd like to see what you have for sale.
I'm thinking about unloading my baby Speedy (3539.50), it's the automatic one that's 2mm smaller in diameter. It's the later model that's sapphire instead of acrylic. They've been popular in Japan, less so here. I think everyone here still aspires to the moonwatch-spec. This guy:
I'm really digging this one from Island Watch. Not as nice as some of the Tuesday watches being posted but the price is right and I really do love the Seiko SKX! https://www.longislandwatch.com/Islander_Automatic_Dive_Watch_p/isl-08.htm
That's kind of a moon watch though. By that I mean if you were on the moon you could see that yellow dial with some cheap binos.
I was worried I would regret it soon after purchase, as is so often that case when venturing into something new. I'm happy to say it couldn't be farther from the truth......the more I wear it the more I love it.
