I use tongs for everything, from carrrying around hot cast iron to sliding out the oven racks to check stuff to turning meat, etc.

Not saying you do. I wear flip flops till they break and one of my favorite car that I had, and used hardcore, my driveway if it was raining had to be in 4wd in St. Thomas. Paid 1500 bucks for it, great car and didn't care when it got hit in parking spots.

 

Looks like it got the job done. Nothing has to be expensive to be good and something being cheap doesn't necessarily qualify it immediately as bad.

A good, sharp chef's knife. You can use it to cut thing up. If you need something else, you can use your chef's knife to threaten your neighbors and obtain whatever the fuck else you need to use in your kitchen.
